As far as comfort goes is there a clear winner? Also, I'm from the Toronto area; where could I go (other than online stores) for Brooks saddles?

Thanks,

-Bill

never tried a Selle, but just got a B-17. i spent 5 hours in the saddle on my first ride with the brooks, and really felt pretty good even thought its not broken in yet, so i imagine it will only get better.
as far as where to buy i'd look here first
http://www.wallbike.com/
they were very helpful and have a 6 month return policy. i doubt you'll find anyone who can beat that.

Well, while I agree they're both extremely comfortable saddles, why such an extreme as far as style and weight are concerned? From a pure asthetics point of view I would not use my Brooks on my Litespeed road bike. I use my Brooks on two of my 'non-racing' style bikes.

I'll probably get booed and hissed at, but I really like my Specialized Body Geometry Pro saddle. It is really light, good looking and most important, comfortable. I just went on a 56 mile ride, and I didn't even think about my nards...except when I saw this gorgeous chick ride by the other way...but thats another story.

I have never tried a Brooks, but plan to soon. I have the prolink transam on all three of my bikes, great saddle!

I have a non prolink trans am, and a brooks B17 (among
a few other saddles in the saddle pile).
The TransAm is comfortable, no doubt about it, however
I noticed after a while some additional pressure points
around the cutout. felt like as the saddle broke in (wore out?)
it was putting more concentrated pressure on my nether regions.

The B17 just doesn't give, its comfortable out of the box if
set up correctly, and is near bullet proof. And it only gets
more comfortable. Takes a bit more care (proofhide, etc)
but is well worth it (at least to me).

If you order a Brooks from Wallingford Bikes (http://www.wallbike.com) you can return it for full refund
up to 6 months after purchase. Ya can't go wrong with that
deal. He also has some deals on returned saddles (sad but
true, not everyone likes them).

There is an interesting guy you should talk to in the greater Toronto area about Brooks. I think the store is called Bicycle Specialties or something like that. I think he used to race, and his son still does. His shop has moved from TO proper to some where to the north of there. I ordered my Team Pro from him, and he would serve you well.

I believe that Nashbar sells Brooks. So does Rivendell:
