"The 33"-Road Bike Racing - When is the best time to sell a TT bike?

I built up a bike last winter to get my time trial form and fit dialed in, and then around march, I got mono. mono took about a month to get over, and by then I was so behind in school that I wasn't able to ride till may. I've never really gotten back my TT form, and its looking like my senior year in school is gonna be pretty damn hard. Basically, I'll probably never TT again until I'm out of school. So, I'm selling my TT bike.

however, since road season is a specific time, when would be the best time to try and sell my bike? Do people think like I do, that winter is the best time to buy to set up a position? or should I wait till the season starts, when people do their first TT and realize that the other guy has a more blingin' bike.

BUT....to actually answer your question, Summer seems to be the best time to sell your bike 'cuz everyone's in the market. That or mid to late Spring (March at the earliest).

Yup, I would say sometime around April (for those keen on getting a head start on the season) and then again in late summer (when the TT's seem thickest in the schedule).

Well it sounds like you want to do it now. If you know what you want to get for it, put it out there and see if you get any bites.

with seasons winding down, winter on its way... this is probably the lowest ebb for TT stuff.

I'm pretty sure thats a size too small, but we'll see. I'm hoping to try one in the somewhat near future.

If only money grew on trees... I would love to get a TT bike, in addition to my road bike, but alas, I have no funds =(

The worst time to sell is after the Hawaii Ironman. Everyone gets toasted and sells their gear. I'm no TT'er but I'll be poking around for a frame or something.

I am very happy with my Cdale Slice, they have discontinued it in favor of an all carbon model so now it's a rare collector's item, and besides, I can't go through another TT bike fit ordeal, as much as I'd love to subject all of BF to it all over again.
