Hi there, I wanted some help figuring out more details about my Puch bike - build year, etc. I think it's an Everest from what's left of the sticker. It's a black 501 frame with gold writing.. BSI. 6102 / 1 .. I will try to put some pics up later today..
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Sacha

I have read that Reynolds 501 is straight-gauge CrMo tubing, well-suited to touring and general-purpose cycling. You have a decent mid-grade frame from Graz, Austria -- some of us around here are reportedly partial to Austrian bikes. :)

Not necessarily straight-gauge, 501 can be DB or even single-butted, and it IS chrome-moly rather than the manganese-moly steel of 531. IIRC 501 was introduced in the early/mid '80s, so your Puch can be no earlier than that.

... and weren't the '80s Puchs made in Japan?
