my bike cranks are moving left to right when i peddle making the sprocket scrap the frame.and i tightened the sprocket but it still moves.what is wrong with it.

Sounds like one or both of the cups for the bottom bracket are loose.

think an upfrade to a sealed bearing cartridge unit is in order... they last that much longer and maintenance free too...

Tighten the "sprocket"? are you speaking of the crank arms? If so and the carnk arms are tight and the problem persists the only other area is the bottom bracket.
