Mountain Biking - Looking for LBS

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I just moved to the Charlotte, NC area. I live off of East Independance in Matthews. Any LBS suggestions for a newcomer?

Sorry, no vids of me doing the robot that I can show on here.;)
The reason I'm searching for suggestions for an LBS is so I can get some info on the local riding scene (mountain & road). Forums are great but you can't beat talking with people in person about this kind of stuff. Thanks to all who replied.
Try Black Sheep. I have not been there but, they have a good reputation from what I can tell and, are heavy into mountain bikes - the 29ers included.

They have this book, it gets published every year. They call it a Telephone Directory. It is in two major sections, pages that are white and pages that are yellow. You want to look in the YELLOW PAGES. This section is ordered in ascending alphabetical. Look for the part that has the heading "Bicycles".

The last time I checked the yellow pages don't give feedback. This is why they have online forums, so I can get the opinion of others. It's a pretty useful tool when there aren't a bunch of smart@$$ remarks.

Yeah, I think there's a section in the Yellow Pages that differentiates the good mechanics from the crap-suckers as well as the sales staff that will sell you something the wrong size just to get rid of their old stock instead of sizing you properly...isn't there?
Sometimes if not for the smartass remarks, some OP's would get no replies. :p
I would suggest this one; but it is about 2,588 miles from you:

I had assumed that like most of the people on this forum, they wanted "to buy ma frist mountain biek" But judging from the thread, he is just looking for a place to hook up with. My bad assumption

Hey man welcome to NC. I live over in Greensboro but last time I went there to my cousins house, I passed epic cycles. It looks like a good shop. As far as places to ride do you know any yet because your close to some hot appalachian spots.
PS. If your ever over in Greensboro, try out Owls Roost Trail in Burmil park. Its the best trail we've got in Greensboro.

Thanks alot. I haven't been on any trails yet. If I can get away from unpacking and work maybe I'll get some trail time in by the end of the year.
