Rides and Races - Jacksonville's Wild Turkey Ride -- November 24

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Mark your calendars, it's just two months away.

What: A checkpoint alleycat and scavenger hunt. (*Despite the name of the race, this is not a drinking race like the last one -- unless of course you want to ride it that way.)

When: November 17 (registration between 2p and 345p; race/hunt at 4).

Where: All over Jacksonville's beautiful downtown and adjacent neighborhoods (Riverside, Avondale, Murray Hill, Brooklyn, Springfield, San Marco, etc.)

Why: The usual: Fun + prizes.

Who: You, of course.

With about 30 riders, we had a great turn-out for our Sunday Sixer and hope that even more riders make it out this time around.

There will be an after party and plenty of boozing, and of course track and skid contests.

More info to come -- as in which sponsors are on board and maybe even what kind of swag'll be up for the winning.

Part of Tallyrand, yeah; and 18-22, give or take, and depending on your route planning.

Sponsors so far:

Crank Bros, Trackosaurs Rex, No Brakes ATL, and then some locally made prizes: a messenger bag and probably a pretty dope wheelset.

And Pabst Blue Ribbon has just agreed to send out some swag.
