This bike came up on CL here in Charlotte today. Anyone ever hear of this company?

I don't know anything about custom Mossbergs, but Mossberg the gunmaker definitely made bikes during the '70's. I had a Mossberg MX, a very cool little bike that was a precursor to modern BMX bikes, I bought it new in '72 or '73. They also made road bikes, some of which had frames of graphite (or early carbon fiber?). The Mossbergs that I saw in the '70's were nice bikes, sold in bike shops. I think there's a thread on Mossbergs titled "Anybody know anything about Mossbergs?" A pretty long thread if I remember correctly-

I also have a Mossberg highend road bike from 1974. Light frame with fake nervex lugs and full Dura ace running gear. Roger

That bike looks very familiar, just like my Panasonic Touring Deluxe (my first 'good' bike). Nervex lugs though. Component mix is exact.

Other than the chrome finish, the frame is pretty close to identical to the red (maroon) one I had back in 1974/5. Well made, quality bike. Just the same, he's asking way too much. As a brand, they're rare, but they're not especially special or desirable, er, collectible.
