Any suggestions for a jersey that's fuller cut? I am by no means obese (OK, 6'2" 200lbs) and find that while a size large pair of shorts fit fine, that most XL jerseys are tiny, especially around the arms and waist! I have found a few looser cuts of jerseys, but not many, and the ones that I found are in darker colors (I am looking for something more visible.

Any suggestions??

Hi,
some of the Performance jerseys come in 3X. I have the classic in 3X, in red. The red is very visible.

I'm 6'2" and 240 lbs. The Pearl Izumi Podium jersey in XL fits fine. The Primal Wear Jersey in 2XL also fits fine. I have a Castelli simple jersey in XL that is awfully snug, but Castelli says it ought to fit awfully snug.

I don't have a lot of answers but I share your pain. Maybe try some of the MTB jerseys. The best fuller cut jersey I have is a 3XL. Since I've started riding I can just now get into my 2XL UCLA jersey.

At 6'1" 215 I can stand to drop a few but am by no means obese.

6', 250. I've found it is very hit and miss. I try jerseys of the same brand and size, and some fit, and others don't. I've had cood luck with some of the Performance Jerseys. Also found a couple of Louis Garnier's and Pearl Izumi's that fit. But, I've found others of the same brand that just don't fit at all.

Most of the Pearl Izumi I have tried fit big for XL. But I just need it for length not really width so they are baggy on me.

Pearl Izumi works grerat for me. Check the tag where it was made. European jerseries are cut smaller then US made. Louis Garneau is cut samller then anyone else.

Voler has five different sizing cuts of jerseys, or is that Velowear? Anyway, I'm 5'10", 230 lbs, and wear XL from Performance. Some of the non-Performance jerseys they sell are Euro, or Team cut. Those are the smaller ones. It's easy for me to check though, since I can try them on at the store. I think the Performance "Classic" jersey would fit you in XL, but their other ones would be 2XL or3XL.

I have had good luck with a Nike jersey which is actually a mountain bike jersey, and also a Sugio jersey. Sugio also makes an excellent short.

Anyone have experience with the Performance IllumiNITE jersey in terms of cut and visibility? Sounds like an interesting concept.

I'm always trying to find a slimmer cut jersey. when the back of my jersey flaps in the wind it drives me insane! when I try to find a smaller size, they just get shorter! to get the tightness i'd like, I'd have to wear a belly shirt!

But whatever suits you. Mtb jerseys are almostl always looser. it seems counter intuitive though. On an MTB, I wouldn't want all those branches and stuff grabbing at me. whatever, to each his own.

Have you tried Voler (http://www.velowear.com/) jerseys?
They have several in the "club (relaxed fit)" style and lots of bright, visible colors. Reasonably priced too.
Here are a few of the more visible ones.

The Perl Izumi Mesa jerseys are full cut. They actually seem to
run a little big for their size.

Newbie question...How exactly should jerseys fit? I just picked up my first jersey (the Niko retro USPS jersey). It's pretty snug in the arms and chest, but looser around the stomach. Is this okay, or should it be pretty snug all around?

I don't think there's a "right" answer - I don't like mine too tight in the arms and chest, then again, I don't want it a jeresey that's way too big either. I'm not racing in the Tour - I just like to be comfortable on a long ride.

Lots of different cuts and fits - best thing is to try as many on at your LBS as you can and find out what cuts and brands fit you best.
