Just met some people from Rhode Island passing through on their way to Gainesville where they will leave the bikes and head for Mexico where they plan to walk to Central America. Going to ride down to the Duval county line with them. More on this later.

Later:

Britt, Donny and Robby left Providence, Rhode Island on September 1st, 2007 and landed here in Jacksonville 25 days later. I got them hooked up with Kosta at Kosta's Pizza Italian in Five Points and they loaded up on pasta and garlic bread.

I paced them down to Timmaquana Road on US17 going into Orange Park and left them headed for Green Cove Springs where Britt's Uncle has a boat. Sounds like a nice way to spend a couple of days partying on the St. Johns River.

They're headed for Gainesville from there to put the bikes in storage then they are headed for Texas to walk Mexico to Central America.

Britt says she will send me a link when she gets around to putting the story up on myspace. I will recommend this forum to her also.

So then I get a call this morning at 9:20AM (is the sun up yet?) from Donny. He left a bag at the restaurant I sent them to. He doesn't want to make the 40 mile ride back (I hate, detest, no I mean really dislike back-tracking myself) so I will jump in the gas guzzler and run it down to him.

He came up with mailing it to him. I said, "Dood, I have a car too!"

I'll get a couple of pics of them and their gear this time.

Caught up with them at the Green Cove Springs Marina in Green Cove Springs, Florida and returned Donny's bag to him. Got a couple of pics of them, their bikes and Britt's uncle Tor. (Scandanavian sounding names somehow) I'll try to put them up here.

First one is Robby, Donny, Tor and Britt left to right. Picture two is Britt, Donny, Robby and your ever faithful reporter Raven. Third is Britt and her camera. The last three are the bikes and gear.

Word from them is expected later. I think the 1400 miles or so on the bikes is cool but I can't wait to hear about hiking Mexico to Central America.
