General Cycling Discussion - This guys partner needs help

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Seen on the 2003 Markleeville Death Ride in the California Sierra Nevada.

Thanks for the pic. It's a good laugh.

Hmmm... could that have been a honeymoon ride? :D
Mind you that guy rode 4 passes with his "partner". over 10,000 ft of climbing.
Seems some club does this every year with different members rotating as the captain.
They put a radio speaker in the "stoker" and another fellow riding behind has a radio microphone and he makes funny comments which sound like their coming from the "stoker".
Makes the ride more fun.

I think a bit of ingenuity and some stepper motors or R/C servos might allow the stoker to also signal gear change requests by banging its head against the rider's back. :D

Perhaps he missed seeing this indicator on his bike computer...
"I knew we shouldn't have passed up that last rest stop."
