London Bike Rentals

I will be in London for work shortly. I may be transferring there permanently. Can anyone recommend a good bike shop where I can rent a good road bike. Also, is London cycle friendly? How are the roads? Traffic/drivers?

Sorry about this late reply, I only just read your post. The traffic is dense and the streets narrow, so there's a lot of weaving and having to look around constantly. but you get used to it. Deoends what the conditions are where you come from. The following may help with rental, but the trouble is for bikers who live here, they never need to rent, so that they can't offer much advice. Depending on the rental cos ti would recommend purchasing a second hand bike from ebay or Gumtree (beware of scammers on Gumtree, see before you pay). You can pickup a vintage Peugeut for £100.
