Touring - Photos from my bike tour (Pyrenees and Alps)

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hello,

I made a webpage of photos from my bike tour in the Pyrenees and the Alps in July. I spent a week in the Pyrenees and crossed from St. Jean de Pied de Port to Luchon over some famous cols like Marie Blanque, Aubisque, Tourmalet and Aspin. I also spent some time around Bourg d'Oisans, including going up Alpe d'Huez.

no fancy web design or detailed narratives, just brief description of each day's ride and lots of photos.

Good day.

Hello,
my bike is 2000 Bianchi Volpe, with 26-36-46 front RSX crankset and 12-32 back, RSX shifters&front derail, LX rear derail, Blackburn rack and Schwinn panniers, continental top touring 700x32. French people (and travelers from other countries) I met on my tour were very helpful and friendly, like the two Frenchmen inviting me over to their table for lunch or the man who gave up his room for me (both described on the first day of my tour) and people helping w/ directions, alternate routes, or just curious what my plan was and talking about the rides, theirs and mine. (and also in other non-biking situations like train, hotels, restaurants, etc). It was a great experience.

Man, those were great shots! Everytime I was in the Alps the weather was so cloudy, for all I know I could have just as well been on the top of Sandy Mountain in Florida.

Loved the pyrenees!!! I did them the first and only time on my world tour. There was alot of rain, but when the clouds broke the view was breathtaking.
