Commuting - Good deed for the day
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I'm in the bagel shop waiting for an egg sandwich to come off the grill when a septuagenarian sitting at a table asks me about my CR1 ("looks like a good bike"). I explain to him that I ride the fast bike on days I meet my friends for some laps in Central Park but my folding bike other days. He explains that he's just getting to biking and asks how I go to Central Park. I tell him the routes I take to get to Williamsburg, etc. He asks if there's a NYC bike map and I say "sure, get a free one at most bike shops". As I'm saying this I realize that I have a copy in my backpack which I whip out and give to him to keep figuring I'll get to a bike shop before he does to replace it. I feel all warm and fuzzy now. :)

I can't help but think of several ironic endings to this. But I'm evil and I have a twisted sense of humor. ;)
Anyway, he prolly got a little lift in his wings when you did it. Maybe you'll see him out one day and he'll return the favor. But, I'd ask for money.
