Southern California - Best route from Pasadena to Griffith Park?

I'm thinking of joining these guys for a ride up La Tuna in 2 weeks.

Since it's only 32 miles, I was thinking of riding to and from the ride but I don't want to do too much climbing and be wiped for the official ride (or on the way home). Anybody have any favorite routes around 10-15 miles? Thanks in advance.

When I go from Silverlake to Pasadena, I just take Los Feliz into Glendale, cut up to Colorado, then head straight out.

Most flat route from Rose Bowl would be something like Linda Vista (west side Rose Bowl) to Berkshire to Highland to Chevy Chase to Glenoaks left at Sonora left at Bette Davis park left at Griffith Park Dr. runs right intot Zoo parking lot.

Thanks for all the suggestions. It looks like Linda Vista to Chevy Chase has about the same amount of climbing as just going up over Lida. I might just use one of those routes to get there and go up Los Feliz and Colorado to get home if I'm tired.

Great Joel. Whenever I do my 50-100 miler from Sherman Oaks to RB and back, I'll expect a SAG stop on the curb since you're up there now. ;)
