Mountain Biking - are santa cruz frames ever on sale anywhere online?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
just curious re: whether santa cruz frames ever go on sale anywhere online
thx
in a word, "yes".
Santa Cruz has been having HELLA problems selling their bikes. nobody wants them. they are junk. you can go to Wal-Mart and pick up an '07 VP-Free for $100 bucks.
hope that helped,

Thank you. I'll make a deal with you. I promise to swing by Wal-Mart after work to look for one if you'll agree to re-schedule the frontal lobotomy procedure you called off last month.

Yes they are, but SC tends to make just enough bikes to sell (that odd sweet spot between over production and under production)...they tend to be closer to the under produced side, which means they tend not to go on sale.

Thank you, this is what I feared.

however, most LBS's up here do have SC frames (and built bikes) on sales most of the time. My daughter's BF just got a huge markdown on a VP-Free, my wife's Blur was a steal.
All of the stores here sell on their web sites, so you can order on line...most ship to the U.S. as well.
contact these guys and see if they have anything interesting on hand:

this is where I bought our SC's

When I bought my wife's Superlight frame from Colorado Cylist about 3 months ago, all the sizes were back-ordered except small. No one was discounting then that I could find. I paid an xtra hundred roughly to get the better anodized finish. The upgraded '07 design is a great frame.
The lbs in Ellijay Georgia all of a sudden has a half dozen Superlight bikes in stock. I asked when he started being a SC dealer. He claims he's been one for well over a year, but could never get bikes.
Sounds like limited production all right.
