Anybody going to ride? Can anybody share their experience w/ this ride? I think I might go, but only if it isn't raining. I've spent my entire life in the Seattle area and I still hate the rain...go figure!!!
Thanks!!!

I am not going to be able to make it this year :(. But I have done 2 of the loops it is a great ride. You should go for it if it is not raining. I commute in the rain, but for recreation I don't unless I need to get into shape for the RSVP.
i want to go but the lady's family is in town that weekend. oh well, maybe i'll just go in the spring. with our house closing and holidays coming up my weekends are booked until january lol. hardly any time for long weekend rides until the rain has really set in. if you're going have fun and eat lots of pancakes!

I'm planning on doing the ride unless it's pouring rain.

Hmm. I will see if I can rope Mr. East Hill into doing this one, seeing as it's on a Sunday...

I couldn't rope Mr. East Hill into this, but I'll be there. Probably do the Poulsbo/Indianola (43 miles), or the Hansville/Poulsbo (55 miles) loop. It will be the shorter loop if it's pouring rain!

looks like it might rain.
did you get those fenders yet, effsizzle, for the days it starts out not raining but starts to rain mid ride?
I plan on going, but driving to the start, a bank I believe. Does anyone know if there will be enough parking there?

Still haven't bought fenders. I'm considering it as I realize that I don't have as much fun at spinning class as I do on the road.

Should be...I think the website claims there's enough, and it will be free, as it's Sunday.

I just saw that, so I guess I'm good to go.

I just got home from doing the 36-mile Poulsbo loop. Great ride - a little windy - but I think avoided the worst of the rain (which appeared to be getting worse as I got off the ferry in Edmonds).
The route was very well marked and very enjoyable.

How many people showed up???
I wish the rain would go away forever, but we'd still stay green and clean. "Cake and eat it too" syndrome.
I did not make it. I live about 30 miles south of that area, in Port Orchard, and when I stepped outside to leave, it was ABSOLUTELY pouring! I have only seen it rain that hard here a few times in the last couple of years. Now that I hear it wasn't that bad up there, I'm kind of upset I didn't go. Oh well, there will be plenty of more rides later. I'm going to try the Olympic Discovery Trail tomorrow.

I went, and had a great time even if it was raining. The rain didn't really start until I was almost done with the Hansville loop. It started pouring down just after I made the left turn on 288th to start the Port Gamble/Poulsbo loop, around 11.00 am or so. I did wind up with a migraine, though, which was not fun. We spotted two Bald Eagles sitting on the mudflats by Elandan Gardens on the way over, a host of various ducks in the water, and on the way home--something I'd never seen before, aflock of over 300 Common Loons flying in formation! That was spectacular.
