Hello all,
I searched the forums for information about bike parking in the Bart System and couldn't find what i was looking for so your input would really help. I live in the alamo square/fillmore district of SF and i have to commute to Berkeley everyday. I'd like to ride my bike to Civic Center bart but i haven't seen any bike parking there. Does anyone know where there is a good place to park my bike? I know that the Embarcadero station has protected bike parking but even from reading their website i can't tell when they're open and whether or not i need to check in or out or whatnot. Your suggestions are greatly appreciated

How about this from the BART site through 511.org:

Located on the concourse level of the Embarcadero BART station in downtown San Francisco directly below Market Street near the Davis Street entrance, this bike facility provides attended parking in the non-paid area across from the platform-to-concourse elevator.

The station is attended during the morning and evening weekday rush hours (7:30am- 9:30am and 3pm- 7pm). Parking and pick-up of bicycles during the staffed hours is free!

However, a membership plan is recommended for those whose schedule varies from posted hours. Membership applications can be submitted online at www.bikestation.org. Members can use their tag to access the Bike Station Weekdays 4am-Midnight, Saturday 6 am-Midnight and Sundays 8am-Midnight.

Hopefully this helps...

you can go EB from Embarcadero during the AM commute hours... take your bike with you.

You CANNOT get on west of Embarcadero though.

Same thing going home. Have to get off at Embarcadero.

Well since you are commuting to Berkeley why not leave your bike at downtown Berkeley station?
