And they sell Kona, I don't know of anywhere else in Toronto that does besides Cycle Solutions, which is also very good.

i like the staff from Cycle Solutions, very knowledgeable and friendly, good line of products.
i hit MEC every now and then to pick up some items, when Cycle Solutions are out of stock.
but i find myself buying online mostly.

Bicycle Works in Waterdown is an outstanding store. The service and knowledge of staff is second to none and the prices are fair. They have a great MTB riding group and some of the best single track trails in Ontario right in their backyard.

They offer Specialized, Kona, Rocky Mountain and Kuota bikes and have one of the best bike mechanics I have come across.

I bought a wheelset from La Bicicletta about a month ago and it was a satisfying experience. I dealt with Henry who was both friendly and professional. He gave me time to checkout the merchandise I was interested in, informed me of the freebie they had on the wheelset (free tires), and immediately agreed when I inquired if I could have a free Ultegra cassette in lieu of the tires. The shop even mounted the cassette and rim tapes on the wheelset. Great service overall.

Wow, what an ignorant comment. If you were to spend more than a fleeting second in the store, you would have realized that these guys are some of the best in the business, and if you are a good customer, will bend over backwards to help you out. Not to mention the charity work they do for Sick Kids and the ride to Conquer Cancer.

But if all you want is a tire tube or a $7.00 tire you're right - they probably aren't the store for you. You are probably better off at MEC.

Horses for courses. I bought my first road bike there, and was happy with the purchase. But it would have been nice if they had perhaps acknowledged me as a customer when I came in (with the bike) for other stuff. But no, there was never so much as a smile, and no indication that they wanted my business. I just prefer to shop elsewhere.

I recently bought my Fuji Track there. Great people to deal with. I believe the ladies name was Molly, but she was very helpful. She helped me find the right size and ordered it in for me in a timely manner. I would suggest them to anyone who lives in the area and even those who dont live in the area. I went down from North York, but the price of the bike was well worth it. They were cheaper than other stores by far.

Anyone use Skiis and Biikes for their bike service?

Another vote for Invita Sport. Friendly staff who to do a good job and want your business, and it's very nice the way they have it setup, with a little cafe area and free cappucinos for every body. :D Their techs are all "Shimano certified"...it sounds a bit pretentious but they do a really thorough job and it's worth the money.

It's also worth the trip just to see the bikes they carry (Willier, Pinarello).

They opened up when Antonio and his Pavan Cycle retired. InVita will carry Pinarello this spring so I can't wait to see the gear. I'm sure they will be much more friendlier than the other GTA Pinarello dealer :)

Also the guys at Cyclepath in Oakville especially Joe are great!

+1 for Joe at Cyclepath in Oakville -have been dealing with them for years -always helpfull! my favourite place by far.

+1 for Invita too..stopped by there and were really friendly helpfull had some good sales on stuff when I was there and pretty good selection of parts and accessories.

That store that runs savedbybikes.com in First Canadian Place, they are closing this friday for the winter due to renovations in the food court. And EVERYTHING left there is 20% off now. they have a few strida's left and a few city bikes that they show on their web page. I went there for some strida spokes that I broke but picked up a rear strida flasher since the nights are getting dark. :). I was hoping he had a set of 18 inch strida rims! dang.
