Which of these do you think is the better light? They are similar yet slightly different, I don't know what the beam is like on either.

If you put eclipse into the search and limit it to this forum you will see a lot of comments about this light. Road and general discussion forums may have something also. You can probably get all you need from this forum. I looked at this light recently and decided to pass. But YMMV. Hope this helps.

Personally I'm using this one:

Been using it since July:

Youtube video of it in action and comparison at:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GIn3OWG6YK0

I'm going to do a new video comparing it to the Niterider Classic Select my wife got
for her own bike soon. That light is a halogen 25watt system with one 10 watt spot
and a 15 watt flood with about an hour of battery life. Mine is set up with a battery
that will last round 4 hours or so.

Personally, I'm digging the Trailtech HID system, it's bright, the battery
seems to last a long time - the issues reported in some of the systems
available at that site don't seem to effect my own and motorists are
definetely seeing me.

Helmet mount:

The on/off switch has multiple leds: this shows power is active:
http://pod.ath.cx/hid/z_old/batterylifeindicator.jpg

When the light is actually on, another led shows that indicates battery strength.

This usually sits down by my right hip so anyone viewing me from the side also sees
two leds on shining which adds to visibility.

Beamshot:

Another:

First test with it:

That's my only advice. Best of luck in choosing. Peter White at Peter White Cycles is THE master of bicycle lighting.

See ya,
Bob

I'd say neither. They have been many reports of problems and bad design with these lights. I search should turn up some relevant posts.

Well I just spent more than I was planning and ordered a L & M Arc light along with a Blackburn Mars 3.0 tail light.
