Looking at the Bianchi Pista. Like the looks love the price. LBS sells the Trek, but it is $1000.00. Or should I buy used?

I like the looks of the Bianchi Pista, and since I'm slow I should at least look good going slow. Will the Bianchi be a decent bike? Honestly I will mostly use the bike on the trainer, with a few trips to Major Taylor. I got a chance to ride on it with my Road Bike and had a blast. Think I'm about ready to pull the trigger on the Bianchi Pista.

Why would you use a bike with one speed on the trainer instead of your road bike though?

To get use to no coasting :) And a harder workout. Plus I use a Virtual Trainer (Tacx I-Magic) and have the Velo Addin.

If you haven't already I'd recommend going to the velodrome and seeing if they have any rental bikes. Give it a try first and if you like buy a track bike.

The bianchi pista is a perfectly good entry level track bike. The trek is probably better but unless you're really serious about track racing it shouldn't make too much of a difference for you.

Shamefully yes I do sometimes. Usually after a long climb.

I'm assuming you are talking about the Pista, not the Pista Concept.

The stock components/wheels on the trek are better and frame is aluminum with a carbon fork so it's probably a lot stiffer than the pista.

There are plenty of Pistas around. Look for a used one.
At least at the Superdrome in North Texas, you can check out a bike from the
club for $5. They come in all sizes and you just have to bring pedals.

I bought a Pista new, but Im realizing- If I paid $5 each visit, I still would have
spent less money than buying a bike.
