run 46/22 gearing on my singlespeed xcheck for a cross race? i just spent a lot of money, including my crank which came w/a 46 tooth chainring, and i got a 22 tooth freewheel for free. so w/out buying a new chainring, i have just over a 2/1 ratio. i know this is gonna look funny w/such a huge freewheel but i think i'm gonna do it. if i'm not jumping barriers then having a huge ring up front shouldn't get in the way, right?

speaking from purely SS MTB experience, 2:1 is awesome offroad gearing

If the course is tight, you should be right on, but you will have to spin like a mad man on the pavement.
