Road Cycling - Creaking noise

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I have a 3 year old Trek 5200 which I love. For the past couple weeks I have been getting a creaking noise only when I am out of the saddle driving up a hill and only when the right leg is pumped down. The complete handlebar assembly down to the fork has been greased and still the problem. Anyone ever have this problem? Thanks
It could be a number of things. It could be the pedals in specific the bearings in the pedals, the pedal spindle in the crank arm, the crank arm on the b.b spindle, the b.b. cups in the frame, or the b.b itself. Although on some alu. frames more often than not it is the b.b. cups.
