Southern California - So Cal needs a long thread "What's Up?" type thread!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Not me... Rather i have the book of bad pick up lines memorized.

"I'd better get a library card, because I'm checking you out."

He said "How do you like your eggs in the morning?"

She said "Unfertilized!"

So, since I bear everything but my privates on here, I might as well share. I've been having a hard time of it lately. A glitch really, and something surmountable, but from time to time, I "slip." Well, the other night I decided that I was going to buy a pair of running shoes after my painful attempt to run but a mere mile on Sunday. I got a brand spanking new pair of Asics. I ran 10 minutes last night (and then resorted to my jump rope/weight workout as usual). Then today, afer a particular disturbing interaction at work, in lieu of taking it out on myself, I went down to the gym at noon and ran for a full half hour! I couldn't believe it. I haven't ran for longer than 10 minutes in over four years. It didn't hurt at all and in fact, creepily enough, I dug it. I normally hate running, but with some tunes (yes, I DO wear my iPod when running on the treadmill or track :p) and a whole lot of frustration, I got into it and really enjoyed it.

For my next run, I'm going to try for 45 minutes just to see what happens. :)

You might consider a return to the sport. Bikes are expensive, but the best carbon fiber curling broom you can buy is only $160 CAD.

Sure, but with the current strength of the Canadian dollar, that comes out to aboot $5000 US, eh?! :p

I've got new Asics shoes too! Got them a few weeks ago but still haven't used them. Maybe I should have on Tuesday for my trail run. Two days now and my front thigh muscles are still in pain when I walk.

Bike + run; if tri events allow rubber ducky flotation devices I'll be all set!

I went on a ride today at night, 9pm, late for any ride I've done recently.

I rode slow...because I had a few things on my mind. You know sometimes it takes a quiet night and a bike ride to wake up to little hints. Sometimes I just wonder...you know about very general things in life.

ahh f7ck it...Sometimes I wonder why I even bother wondering...it's all meaningless---in the end.

I tried though. I did try...

The Right Brain vs Left Brain test ... do you see the dancer turning clockwise or anti-clockwise?

If clockwise, then you use more of the right side of the brain and vice versa.

Most of us would see the dancer turning anti-clockwise though you can try to focus and change the direction; see if you can do it.

counter clockwise - LEFT BRAIN FUNCTIONS
uses logic
detail oriented
facts rule
words and language
present and past
math and science
can comprehend
knowing
acknowledges
order/pattern perception
knows object name
reality based
forms strategies
practical
safe
clockwise - RIGHT BRAIN FUNCTIONS
uses feeling
"big picture" oriented
imagination rules
symbols and images
present and future
philosophy & religion
can "get it" (i.e. meaning)
believes
appreciates
spatial perception
knows object function
fantasy based
presents possibilities
impetuous
risk taking

Most definitely clockwise for me, which is funny because I'm a scientist/engineer (depending on the day and who I'm talking to). Maybe that's why I gravitate towards "system engineering" when I'm being an engineer...

I couldn't get her to reverse (but will try again)

Happytime

Clockwise for me.

counter clockwise - LEFT BRAIN FUNCTIONS
uses logic - Only when I feel like it
detail oriented - What trees?
facts rule - ...and boys drool
words and language - sjksdjek bluh.
present and past - when?
math and science - 1 + 2 = 5
can comprehend - say that again?
knowing - ignorance is bliss
acknowledges - go away
order/pattern perception - even seen my apt?
knows object name - Sacha?
reality based - D&D and Animal Planet rule!
forms strategies - See cute cyclist. Get cute cyclist.
practical - See "Sacha"
safe - but not sane

Initially clockwise, but I can flip her at will (always a handy skill to have).

That's what I get for being an engineer with a fine arts degree.

Clockwise. And i have an INTJ personality.

The only way i can see it counterclockwise is if i focus on the reflection on the ground (which indicates counterclockwise).

best picks are the BD Le Champion, The Bianchi is NICE but hardly any reviews on them so thats a bit scary. Might look at the C'dales too, only 2 dealers in SD. ARRRGGGGGGGG

yes, I am. The brain controls all areas of the body, including one's use of her finger.
