Southern California - So Cal needs a long thread "What's Up?" type thread!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Clockwise. And i have an INTJ personality.

The only way i can see it counterclockwise is if i focus on the reflection on the ground (which indicates counterclockwise).

Ditto. If I scroll the image halfway off the screen so I can't see the arm or the hip, I can make it go both ways. If I see more of the image, it's always clockwise. I'm an IN something something if that matters in any way shape or form.

yes, I am. The brain controls all areas of the body, including one's use of her finger.

Careful using that finger of yours. We don't know where it's been! :roflmao:

Sharp looking bike. Less than 16 lbs, Force, nice price, too. Too bad it is a tad big for me, I would've loved to take it for a test ride.

My goals are to run faster so that I can lose weight from burning fat to uncover the already sexy legs that are there...somewhere. :D

so....try some interval workouts....i would try like a 45-1minute on with 2 minutes slow....

try to cruise about 4.5 with the on part at about 6.5-7mph... i do it for about 15-20 minutes and that will pull fat and increase speed pretty much faster than anything.

I'm considering training for one of those. My problem is I'm broken about the bike thing. I'm to the point where if I want to train for a bike ride, I think it should be a 100 mile bike ride, which leaves me at an Iron man distance. Ugh. It just doesn't seem right to only get on a bike for 26 miles.

They need a 1/2 mile swim, 75 mile bike ride, 5 - 10 mile run option. I'd be all over that.

At the gym? Vicki and I have a treadmill at home along with our trainer. We got some Coach Troy running workouts to go along with the bike ones. Very neat!

Sprint distance tri's are about that distance. Also there is the Tin Man (really!) Tri in the Inland Empire someplace...it's super short everything!

I seriously love Craigslist. The nicest gentleman just came by to pick up the bike components - no haggling, just straight up courteous and friendly. Of course I plugged BF and hope he comes on. It's not only because it's a great venue to sell odds and ends, but you never know what types of people you encounter -

Last weekend I sold a Wii remote to a Filipino girl in her mid-twenties who came by on a motorcycle. We ended up talking for a bit about random stuff. Nice, cool chick.

Last month I sold my couch after getting a new set. Buyer was a nice middle school teacher who came by and gave me my asking price in cash. Then was busy but called ever so often, and ended up picking it up. Three weeks later.

Earlier this year I sold my drum set to a Hispanic couple that needed it to play for their church's worship band. While the husband was checking out the set, I was simply touched by their humility and the way they were so excited about getting it and putting it to good use for other people to enjoy that I cut the price in half. Their gratitude was unending to a point where I was a tad embarassed.

I sold a slot machine - (it's a weird story - a patient had given it to me as a gift way back when I was working for a laser eye surgeon - it was a full-blown Vegas slot machine that weighed a gagillion pounds) - guy was extremely excited because he had wanted to surprise his ailing father with one for his birthday but they were all in the upper-hundreds/$1k range and he couldn't afford it in the midst of medical bills and expenses. I've never seen someone so excited about a slot machine before . . . except in Vegas.

Just a few tidbits from my Craigslist selling experiences - there are more but I don't want to bore everyone with them.

Oh, and, George, since you run, you might appreciate this. I ran for 45 minutes tonight :D 45 minutes! I couldn't believe it. I even tried doing some intervals on the treadmill, but those just flat out suck. I think I'll just stick to a steady pace.

Young man, you need to shake things up a little and get back into a good mood. You got a whole life of disappointments, possible debts, jobs you don't like, apartments that suck and women who diss you before everything works itself out. Trust me, I'm old and been through it all. :D

Well good for you Mary! We have a treadmill at home but I can never get comfortable on it. Since there is a dirt trail conveniently located just outside my house I'd rather run it in the morning. Keep running and I bet you'll notice a difference in your cycling performance. :D

Well, I know it's way too soon, but I feel like I've dropped a tiny bit of blubber. I swear my butt and thighs looked smaller :p But now that I'm doing the treadmill, I'm going to start running outside around the RB like I used to. One or two times around, 3.25 -6.5 mile run isn't too shabby! :D
