Woah... an hour ago, aprilm's connecting flight was shown as being on time. Half an hour ago, it was 45 minutes delayed. Then aprilm text messaged me to inform me they're on time. And now they're showing as on time again. This is so confusing.

Jeff:

Rain? Ironic, dontcha think?

Actually, rain on your wedding day is a blessing. It symbolizes the cleansing of your former lives and purifies the both of you in preparation for your life together. Congratulations, buddy. May this bring eternal happiness for your family.

This is lame. I've been waiting all week to ride my MTB, and now it rains. Bluh. I only like it when it rains when I have to be indoors. Like when I'm sleeping, or at work.

IMBA frowns on riding wet, muddy trails (they say ride on open trails only too, but I don't always follow that). Besides, my skin is delicate. Mud will upset its pH.

DaveSANYYZ
10-13-07, 10:34 AM
Mud is good for you skin! ;)

Just too much hassle to clean the bike. That's how I got rusty chains on my road bike since I was lazy and waited a day or 2 before cleaning it after a wet ride. :(

roadfix
10-13-07, 10:50 AM
The last time I rode in mud I ended up using more than half of whatever liquid I had in my Camelbak to clear all the muck around the brakes so I can continue riding. This was pre-disc days....:D

Drew12
10-13-07, 11:18 AM
I've had to carry the bike out due to mud build up.
3-4 miles of walking with the bike over the shoulder.

Mud is Ok in limited amounts, it does rip up the trails so I attemp to not ride when
damage could occur to the trail.

No riding for me this weekend so will be getting things done around here.

To all the MS150 riders - have fun, good luck and be safe!

Nice morning for a ride! Cool and dry.

ME and I got up close and personal with some men in uniform. Well, I got up closer and even more personal, with the cop pulling me over with sirens wailing and lights flashing. My bad... I ran the stop sign on the corner. Yup, the very same stop sign I warn others about!

Nice easy spin, only one double-digit climb, keeping the legs fresh for tomorrow. :D

I have a few pics, but Happy has to approve them first. I can't wag my finger at her (although she DOES look trim in all of her pics) since I don't want any of me posted until I drop 20 pounds! But as soon as she approves, I'll post a couple.

I have a great up close pic of her fluffy, warm, moist, fruit-filled "hole." :)

It started out to be a crummy day, biking-wise, raining off and on all morning. I thought my weekend ride was toast. But then around 10:30, it cleared up a bit. The weather was perfect and I felt great. I actually set a personal record for the first 2 hours, including a bathroom break and traffic lights - 40.7 miles. I know that's nothing for you youngsters, but for a 59 year old like me, that felt pretty good. The remainder of the trip I took it easy, saying hello to oodles of MS riders who were passing through Carlsbad and Encinitas. Next year I'm going to go on that with my 22 year old nephew. A block away from home I got a flat. If you're going to get one, that's where to do it I guess. I did much less than my usual 75 miler, at 56 miles, but it was still a great day for biking!

Any of you MS riders -- if you saw a blue lwb bent between Oside and Encinitas, that was probably me. :)

Congrats Jeff!! Yes it's amazing how quickly the day flies by you.....

I had a less than stellar day :( I got a relapse last night and ended up going to the ER this morning. Got some lab tests done, and they pumped 2.5 liters of IV into me.
