I got to find a gym with a pool thats more accessible. I dont mind a cold pool...

There's a pond in my backyard. It's cold. You'll have to fight the ducks for it, and they're pretty mean, but you can swim in it if you want. It's not very big, but it's accessible.

Help! I think my office is haunted. I'm here all alone working on this presentation and I keep hearing footsteps (and the office is carpeted!), plus this russling. :( I'm really tired, need to get this done so I can get home and to bed, but I'm skeered. Do you guys think it is my imagination?

Now, I could swear I heard a woman's voice, like a whisper and I'm too scared to walk around the hallway to see if anyone is here.

It's ok. Just try not talking to yourself? :D

In that case, just talk to yourself and you wouldn't notice anything else. I'm a genius! :D :p

Man, I'm still very smelly. I need to go take a shower. Still haven't done that yet coz my friend will be coming to my place very soon. I have already cleaned parts of my place, but it's still extremely messy. Only another hour or two to go. Didn't have time since I only got a call from him last night.

^^^^ Upgrades usually have their own bugs to be worked out. This is related to the upgrades that lead to a paperless system. Yup, it requires more paper.

The server upgrade was postponed. So the site's still as before for now.

I tried unsuccessfully to nap. Oh well, whatever.

My friend got redirected to stay at another friend's place. Yeah! Although I kinda feel bad, coz that other friend has 2 kids. Hopefully they wouldn't be waken up when he arrives.

In any case, quite a lot of garbages have been thrown out at my place, but it's still quite a mess. At least now you don't need to hop from one "floor island" to another. Hahahaha.

Shower then dinner at McD I think. :D

You should have said something earlier, Dave. You could have joined April and me for dinner at RB. Probably more tasty than McD. Besides, N didn't charge us for drinks. Must have been April's cute looks.

In the middle of all the yucky sick in bed time, this little trinket showed up in the mail that made me feel a little better...

BTW I am feeling 1000% better after my trip to the ER Saturday. After 2.5 liters of IV and some meds to calm my stomach down, I was eating everything in sight yesterday!!! Now I'm getting antsy to get out and ride....

My legs are different from cycling all summer. I took out my fall/winter clothes out this weekend. I pulled on my favorite pair of Italian boots and now they fit funny. They're super tight in the calves and loose in the thighs so they don't stay up when I walk. :(

 Besides the usual formalites like arigato, konichi wa, sayonara, etc. i don't know much else. For some reason kissaten sticks in my memory. Should be one of roadfix's favorite words. :D

I had purchased afew books to learn Japanese a while back since i wanted to go to Japan sometime but i have been slacking on the self-study... Cycling kinda got in the way. :o

Sure isn't fair, now is it, Cuda? April comes to town, and she gets a ride PLANNED for her ;) But you come knocking and we just won't answer! In all seriousness, because that weekend is Thanksgiving, I think most folks are tying to figure out family plans. I will be in town, however, and I'll try to figure out some sort of ride. Also, I'm sure details for the Pie Ride will materialize soon. :)

Put the boots back in the closet. I hear that clear heels are in this season. Bonus points if you can bolt a Keo cleat to the bottom of the clear heel!

Agreed. Fausto was a notorious doper (http://72.14.253.104/search?q=cache:NPkGtmtlfvwJ:www.tnr.com/doc.mhtml%3Fi%3D20060724%26s%3Ddiarist072406+fausto+coppi+doping&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=1&gl=us). Vance should pick a more suitable role model for the chillun

I want to be Cipo for just one week. Can you make that happen?

Hmm, since Fausto died before he reached my age, perhaps you are right. Since Token (my new frame) is such a classic and respected name in cycling history, perhaps I should change it to:

Going to ride with a non-cyclist friend this Saturday in San Diego. New to riding.

1) Pick up rental bike at Nytro in the morning
2) Silver Strand Coronado (flat 13 miles; half with headwinds)
3a) SR-56 bike path if not comfy with road riding (downhill 8 miles and uphill 8 miles)
3b) PCH up Torrey Pines if comfy with road riding (maybe from Nytro/B&L and do a roundtrip down to TP)

I think I'll have double tubes, water bottles + camelback and a few packs of gels.

Any other suggestions? Thanks!

If your friend's totally new to riding, I bet s/he would enjoy the abandoned Hwy 101 above Pulgas Road by Pendleton. Pretty flat, and totally safe. The San Luis Rey bike trail is another good one.

DaveSANYYZ
10-15-07, 07:28 PM
Thanks! Yeah, I forgot the north of Pendleton path towards the nuclear plant. I think I'll do that instead of SR-56/Torrey Pines-PCH.

I'm actually not too sure what fitness level she's at. One thing that Dan reminded me though is that Nytro rents out standard doubles. I guess this will be good for me to show off my climbing skills on my compact-12/27 while she's cranking away on standard-11/23? :D :p
