Did you throw up? I did when I took Vicodin and almost knocked the stitches out of my mouth. Then my throat swelled. I'll never touch the stuff again.

On hot days, you are supposed to unwrap them ahead of time and wrap them around your top tube...
at home before ridinig, cut the powerbar in thirds and coat them in powdered sugar or splenda or something and put them in a baggie to carry in your jersey pocket. the pieces won't stick to each other with the powdered coating. easy to eat. :)

I liked the thought of you men wrapping them around your top tubes and having to pry them off, myself. But yeah, your method will work too.
Of course, I can't stand those things. I ate too many of them in my early 20s when they were all the rage.

I like Cliff Bars too, although these days I got cheap and just went on straight drinks/gels. Sometimes they feel a little bit too organic though. Once in a while, I get a small piece in the bar that is unchewable; kind of like tree bark. :p
That reminds me, I tried a peanut butter Detour bar on the South Bay ride. I don't really like the taste of it. Part of it tastes very chemical-ish.

I was in high school when powerbars were the rage. People on the wrestling team ate them. I thought they were disgusting then, but I still ate them anyway. I won't eat them now.

Morphine is OK. Which is precisely why no one prescribes it.

But Dilaudid is better! They gave it to me when morphine wouldn't cut it, but the problem is it's so addictive I dreamed about it for months.

Vicodin sux.
Agreed, but for different reasons. It didn't make me feel crappy or make me sick. In fact it didn't do a damn thing for me. I got more relief for a severely strained lower back with over the counter ibuprofen.
Anyone else get nothing from it?

I feel like quitting again! (my job, that is)
I had my wisdom teeth taken out 3 years ago, and the Dr. over prescribed Vicodin for me. I was on the couch for 3 days, feeling as though I was in a hammock flipping over and over. Worst experience ever.

I was just on a week vaca and the weather half that time sucked. I just spent $80 in cold weather crap cuz I misplaced my cold weather stuff from last yr. I know it's gonna be hot next week, but at least I'll be ready later next month.
Are you going anywhere or just staying local?

Vicodin works great for me...too great. I could easily grow very fond of it, since I have chronic neck pain...
Good thing that it's hard to get.
They make vicodin with ibuprofen, too, you know. I forget what it's called...
People who ride bikes need good pain relief...:D
Just got home from dinner at RB. Wasn't going to drink tonight, but how am I supposed to say no when N asks if I want a beer and I know that she'll almost certainly not charge me for the beer? B dropped by to chat, and then J dropped by to again rave about the new waitress that she thinks will become one of my favorites. And sure enough, N didn't charge for my beer. Now I'm sleepy.
I'm so stressed out.
:( If you need a massage or something to destress on Sunday, I'd be happy to oblige. :D

tonight was bowling nite, left knee is sore for not being able to slide on the lanes. Should be good for tomorrow's ride.
Still thinking of what long ride I want to do Saturday, Sunday is going to be a short ride.

I think I'm headed to bed. After all, I declined a second beer from N since I told her I might fall asleep and drool all over the table she'd have to clean if I had another beer. :o

What's up ya'llz... Ugh, woke up early to ride my bike to work but ended up waking up just a tad too late to actually do it (i didn't get out of bed until 3:45AM, i need to leave at 4:00AM). So now i'm up and showered and just waiting around to drive into work (i leave right around 5:00AM but i'll leave earlier so i can completely miss all traffic).

They are Avid BB7's. I got a new one one there now. I was trying to see why the rotor was rubbing, and I found that the outboard bad wasn't retracting all the even when I backed out the dial completely. So I too out the pads for a closer look and kinda wanted to see the area under underneath the piston. So I turned the outboard adjuster dial to advance the piston . . . I turned it too far, the retaining ring broke, and the piston came out.
So much for saving money :(
Nicer feel than the V-Brakes though!
Crash716
10-19-07, 01:58 PM
The best way i have found to stop rubbing is to loosen the bolts that hold the caliper to the fork and frame....then pull the handle as far as you can (obviously the wheel needs to be in there)...tie it off and then retighten the bolts to the caliper...it seems to help alignment. i have hydp brakes though don't know if it works as well for mechanicals.

Performance has XTR disc brakes on sale. Most likely center lock though. Forgot the price but I think the final $ is quite a bit lower than the MSRP one; and don't forget their 15% code too.

i am sure you'll mop the floor with me by the end of the year...You're only off by 121 miles. I have been doing some 50milesSat + 100milesSun recently, and that helped boost it. These days, I'm normally just doing a ride per weekend. :p
For me, this weekend will just be a very short Sat + a 100 miles Sunday.
