Southern California - So Cal needs a long thread "What's Up?" type thread!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Well, maybe you need a better stereo system in that van, John. You know, play a little "mood" music. :D
I'm a guy, I don't need mood music.

Ahem... John... maybe you should stop bringing the kids along when you and Sonia park. Just a suggestion... :p;)
We make them stand outside and face away.
It bugs the others, though.

ME - I might have to preview Whiskey Sweet Potatoes anyway, that sounds fricken glorious.
Mark - I doubt they had any gas between the panes. I'm pretty sure the repairmen probably figured I lived on the golf course (I don't, but there is one close) so they have a set rate to replace the whole shebang.
Jeff/Psydo - It may be my CV boot, but if it is, it happened when they did the brake job, so the mechanic will take care of it. My plan is to clean it all up and see if it gets greasy again, then take it in. I doubt it's the CV boot, and 'Vette's have a rear transaxle, so swapping the axle is not as easy as you might think.
Frank - I was just stickin' it to The Man. Actually, it was really nice to catch up. She was my first love.
Mark, again - I tried to explain Turducken to my wife...her gag reflex started right about when I told her that it's cajun stuffing packed into a (eww...) boneless chicken shoved arseways into a boneless duck (gag) shoved arseways into a (gag..hack) turkey.
To me, however, a Turducken with Whiskey Sweet Potatoes sounds like gawldarn heaven on Earth...but only with a growler of Stone Smoked Porter as well.

I've had good turducken and bad turducken. If you're making it by yourself, it's hard to get the inner meats cooked properly without drying out the outer turkey layer. Deboning all that fowl is a pain, too, but a few places, like Bristol Farms, actually sells ready-to-cook turducken. I think it's mostly hype, though. A properly brined and cooked (fresh) turkey is tops!

Yah I understand what the rear transaxle looks like and how they work. Just a C clip holding the axle into the pumpkin. Often need a slide hammer to remove it. The vette just might have more stuff in the way to get the axle outa there. Unlike say a miata, 240sx or EVO
I'm sure it was torn when they did the brakes somehow. clean it up and see where's its coming from. There is only soo much grease packed into those joints and you don't want those to go dry.

Sure...if it walks, flies or swims, it's worthy of being battered and dipped in boiling lard.

A year and a half ago (or so), the powers at Bike Forums decided to create regional subforums to bring neighbors together.
At that time, FOO had (and still has) a thread titled "What's Up?"...basically just to shoot the shxx with other members..not related to anything at all, and the thread went any direction it pleased.
A California member named Caligurl liked the thread so much that she created a thread in the SoCal subforum titled:
So Cal needs a long thread "What's Up" type thread!
....
She wasn't a moderator, so she couldn't change it when she realized that the syntax would confuse Canadians...thus, it stayed, and perpetuated, and festered, and finally ate itself to the point the moderators deleted it entirely.
As a tribute, I recreated it almost immediately, and the moderators have deemed it worthy of a 2nd life.

Last year one of our turkeys was brined with sichuan peppercorns (the ones that make your lips tingle). It was good but didn't quite cause the tingly bit.

The problem is that you saw the "CA" and thought "Canada", not California. Try sprinkling "u"s liberally through all the posts (mentally), add in some "eh's" here and there, and substitute "skate" or "hockey" wherever you see "bike" or "ride" and it should all make perfect sense.

Not bad-- finally done racing for the year (as of a couple weeks ago). Took a week completely off the bike, and that got extended to two by the fires. Been riding like a normal person again.

I'm confused. Don't you ride at that Velodome thing? Did you stop riding there? You know what? I should have tried the Velodome when those fires were here. Didn't even think of that.

Yep, and after nats I'm totally burned out, so I take a little time off. I was going to do some road riding after my week totally off, but the fires kind of interfered with that. I've been back on the track a couple times since then, and am going tomorrow night. No racing until January.
The air was definitely better at the track, but I didn't want to deal with traffic. It's a lot of commuting to ride there 2-3 days a week.
Well, how big is it?
He just got done fixin his deck.
Seems it had soft wood..
