Good morning!

I have the lovely task of ripping apart a bathroom because the bathtub drain line broke while a plumber was trying to snake out the line. 45 year old house and tub, so it was LONG overdue, but we were hoping we could hold off until my daughter and the grandkids were out of the house. At least with it happening now, I have two strong son-in-laws who have agreed to do the major portion of the work. I'm going to feel somewhat guilty that they are ripping out all the tile and wallboard around the tub while I will be out riding Tour de Julian Saturday ;)

They both owe me BIG time for the sweet deal they both have had living with us at various times. And I'm sure they realize it. Plus the younger son-in-law's brother does tile work for a living and said he would do the replacement tile work.

Sorry ME. I used to have the energy and inclination to do stuff like that, but I really don't anymore. I now realize I have limited time and energy to do things, and I'd much rather be using it on fun stuff like riding....my bike.

I can relate. I just spent 3 months fixing my balcony. This was something I was able to do over 2 weekends several years back.
It sure seems like I have plenty of energy to ride my bike but not much for anything else....:p

ME - I might have to preview Whiskey Sweet Potatoes anyway, that sounds fricken glorious.

Mark - I doubt they had any gas between the panes. I'm pretty sure the repairmen probably figured I lived on the golf course (I don't, but there is one close) so they have a set rate to replace the whole shebang.

Jeff/Psydo - It may be my CV boot, but if it is, it happened when they did the brake job, so the mechanic will take care of it. My plan is to clean it all up and see if it gets greasy again, then take it in. I doubt it's the CV boot, and 'Vette's have a rear transaxle, so swapping the axle is not as easy as you might think.

Frank - I was just stickin' it to The Man. Actually, it was really nice to catch up. She was my first love.

Mark, again - I tried to explain Turducken to my wife...her gag reflex started right about when I told her that it's cajun stuffing packed into a (eww...) boneless chicken shoved arseways into a boneless duck (gag) shoved arseways into a (gag..hack) turkey.

To me, however, a Turducken with Whiskey Sweet Potatoes sounds like gawldarn heaven on Earth...but only with a growler of Stone Smoked Porter as well.

With regards to the windows: Do what I did and get triple pane. When I break one, either inside or outside, I just remove it and I am good to go. Double pane with no pane at all. Consider it an upgrade.

Darn. I was just there and saw those skull caps (the thinner one with no fleece, yes?) and almost bought one, but didn't. Now I have to go back.

Back in SD. 160K feet of climbing in 3 days; impressive, eh? ;) :D

The trip was very uneventful until the end. During landing, the plane pulled back up because of a warning light for the landing gear. After circling the SD airport once, the plane landed without a hitch... with 3 fire trucks and 3 police cars surrounding the plane... Scary. :S

Ah, didn't get to experience it. We deplaned normally through the gate. When the plane was taxi'ing, I saw some fire trucks w/flashing lights at turns. Only when I got off the plane and looked out the building's window did I see the 3 fire trucks and the police cars. :)
