Southern California - So Cal needs a long thread "What's Up?" type thread!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Well, I hate to point it out, but you may be right. You can't say "more stupider." You either have to say "more stupid," or "stupider."
But nevermind, do tell us about this job. :p

For sure. If it weren't for me, there'd be no way you guys could climb at 5mph.

ps. Jeff...it was a CV boot. And I'll soon be $175 poorer because the clutch replacement mechanic and the brake replacement mechanic both insisted that there was no way they could have torn the CV boot...it must have been old and worn out.

Outstanding route! It's probably not quite long enough, or enough steep sections, for the pros. But it beats the flat routes by a mile.
I'll be very interested to see if there is enough climbing to create some breakaway opportunities for the climbers -- perhaps where it gets steep at the end of Aliso? It's not very long, but they've done a fair amount of (semi-) climbing already by that point. What do you think?

175 for them to replace the boot? that sucks, I hate taking cars to the shop. I do most of that type of work myself just to save the money and knowing it's done sorta right;)

Here's the profile from Santa Clarita to the Rose Bowl. I think there might be enough going over the divide on AF to make it interesting.

JP, I'm having trouble matching that up. It shows 68 mi vs. 93 mi for the whole route -- is that just the extra mileage around the Rose Bowl they'll be doing? Aliso is the highest point, right?
Aside from being the steepest section, Aliso is one of those climbs with a deceptive landscape, making you think it is flatter than it is... that will be the most interesting section to watch, for me.

When they hit the Rose Bowl they do a circuit course a few times which makes up the difference in mileage.
I think the highest point is the road to Mt Gleason.

Catching up...too lazy to do it good like:
Any job that allows you to say more stupider is a damn fine job.
I often ride to a breast. Sometimes two of 'em.
A mobile stop sign is found in Alabama. Don't worry your little inbred heads about it.
Jeff: Thank you for enlightening me about what a CV boot is...it's bad enough that it cost me $175, but it's doubly more so bad 'n stuff that it would have cost half that for any other car. Corvette tax is alive and well.
If they do glue a stop sign to a set of wheels and try to stop the Rose Bowlers, well...hopefully George gets a video of it.

Since it's close to Xmas season, I finally got a quote for the C'dale crash/frame replacement program to replace my dented frame. Caad8 is no more and $600 to get the caad9. I think I'll keep my caad8 for the next little while until they start having a paint scheme that I like. :p

Mo you don't want to know the parts cost for a CV boot on a normal car. So yah thats what happens when you have a $50k car.
biking related, my new bike will break the 400 mile mark in it's first month of riding:beer:
