Southern California - So Cal needs a long thread "What's Up?" type thread!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Ever have dreams that you know can never come true? :(
If my dreams came true, I'd be in some serious SH*T...

Heading out for dinner at Outback, then prep my bike and clean up my place. My sis will be flying in tomorrow, and my dad on Wednesday. :D

ewwww!!!!!!! stink city!!!!
Took longer than I wanted for dinner. Went to RB, ordered a beer and a salad, happened to run into my coworker and talk with him a bit. Then ate my salad while covertly taking glances at the two girls who I sat next to at the bar. Since I ended up talking with them and they were ordering another round of food, I decided to stay around for dessert and hang out some more. It was fun, and they live practically right next to me, so one of them asked for my number and we may hang out again. We'll see...
Anyway, gotta prep for tomorrow.

I always get dropped on the flats
do some more rides with me and we'll cure that part:D I just suck at climbing, long climbs that is. The short climbs I can sprint and power over.

"Able to keep up with the main pack on climbs" is relatively to the ppl I was riding with.
The problem with riding with you is that I'll get dropped regardless of whether we're on flats, climbs or descents!

LMAO, I won't drop you if you ask:p
Dave, if those girls I met tonight ever call me up for a bike ride (the idea did get discussed), we should pace them around. We'll probably seem like Lance Armstrong to them, but it would be fun. For once, we could be more than capable of holding our own. :)
Cheat sheet to self: Nicole and Lindsey.

That's not a Campy crank. No wonder you hurt your leg.
That's the S-Works carbon. You try and find me a 165 Record crank, Dan!:p
I'm off to ride Newport Coast and Back Bay.
Only have a short amount of time so should be a good ride, although short.

Just patching our main school accounting program and associated servers. Thank god for VPN so I can do this from home!

"Pardon me, but how much did your bike cost?"
Is it...
A) Honest curiosity
B) A pick-up line (never had a girl ask me that)
C) Census taking
My typical answer: "Quite a bit." (Non-cyclists wouldn't understand)
Was past by 14 riders going up Newport Coast.
They were some club, said Hi to almost all of them, but they were huffin' and
puffin' so much couldn't talk! I just talked away trying to get them to say somethin'.
But I was the only one the continued up Vista Park to the top.....
Average 6.5 m/h up N/C, and 4.5 up Vista.
Dang, I'm fast!
Then had my first flat in a few months coming down San Juaquin..
glad it was on the rear tire!
The Performance wind jacket was a big help on this chilly day too!

I get asked about once a week if I'm riding alone. Sometimes at the coffee shop, sometimes if I'm stopped at a light.
