I touched the power supply plug on something else on the laptop, and now the power supply is bad. I must have shorted it out. Doh!

Did you feel a sudden pressure sensation and then intense euphoria inside your body? If not, nothing entered you and you didn't "short" anything.

I know this cause I've "shorted" something many times, and this is what I've felt when doing so.

making meatloaf for dinner, havn't made it in a while so I thought I'd switch it up a lil. Still thinking of what to make on the sides, Mashed potatoes and cornbread might be the final combo......

Was past by 14 riders going up Newport Coast.
They were some club, said Hi to almost all of them, but they were huffin' and
puffin' so much couldn't talk! I just talked away trying to get them to say somethin'.
But I was the only one the continued up Vista Park to the top.....

Average 6.5 m/h up N/C, and 4.5 up Vista.
Dang, I'm fast!

Then had my first flat in a few months coming down San Juaquin..
glad it was on the rear tire!

The Performance wind jacket was a big help on this chilly day too!

Hello Drew,

Sounds like my club's Group B ride. I was there earlier with three other guys on our Group A ride. Usually the Group B folks are pretty friendly. :)

Ok, I agree, I didn't short anything. However, it was strange. The charger usually has a green led indicator, showing it has power. However, it did not. I unplugged, and plugged it into a different outlet, and now it is showing power. I did see a spark when I touched it on the laptop. I didn't even know I had that much magnetism ...

Hello Drew,

Sounds like my club's Group B ride. I was there earlier with three other guys on our Group A ride. Usually the Group B folks are pretty friendly. :)

I think so. One or two had " Lightning Velo" Jerseys.
And one gal was holding onto a scooter to help on the climb!
Give her credit, she was on the bike!

I asked 2 of 'em if they were a club and got two "yes" answers, but no other info.
At 6 m/h there is plenty of time to talk.

They were friendly enough, I really think most were trying to concentrate on climbing
faster.

Juicy, new '08 XT, Mavic... choices choices...

My bro-in-law and my sister have arrived from Kansas. Took them around town and the first thing my bro-in-law wanted to do after lunch is to pick up a rental at Nytro.

Now I'll see if I can manage to wake up at 5am tomorrow and ride with him for an hour or 2 before heading to work. On the bright side, riding more this week while he's here may help me improve my speed. :)

Catching up:

Happyfatforlongtime: Thinks she’s fat…again…great…now those of us that are truly fat are extra obese now. ‘Preciate that, lady.

Go_Fast: Is, once again, about as subtle as a 2x4 across the crotch. Dude, try something like this: How ‘bout I butter your muffin, little princess? Or take a page out of Tracy Jordan’s book, “How bout you and me go behind the middle school and get you pregnant?”

Jsigone: Offers Dave some sound advice…if you want to ride faster, just ride faster LOL1!

Jschen: Thank God you’re using real names…I was half expecting CGWNRWP (Cute Girl Whose Name Rhymes With Pickle) or somesuch nonsense. Whatever happened to PFESTDIWCAWAKKC? (Pretty Foreign Exchange Student That Dances In Wooden Clogs And Wears A King-Kong Costume)…she seemed like a girl you could take home to Mom.

Ovoleg: Too bad you lost your phone. N00b.

ME: Is, once again, about as subtle as a 2x4 across the crotch. That's okay, real men like 2x4's across the crotch...at least that's what my Dad used to tell me before wielding the 'ole Equalizer when I rogered our shetland sheepdog. (oops, I've said too much.)

Everybody Else:

I need a good Cornbread stuffing recipe…preferably something with bacon, ham, or sausage (Andouille?) in it…that doesn’t take a day and a half to make and will beat my mother-in-law’s stuffing’s ass up one side of the street and down the other. That chick needs to be knocked off her high horse…with her crouton concoction. Damn her.

Roadfix: So…do you have any interest in a 2nd hand Brooks Swallow? (ME…Go_Fast…that’s right, I said ‘swallow’. You may commence with the smut.)

mateo44

Hit me with it. Like a 2x4. I've been going to Epicurious.com, and they look fine and all, but my M-in-L gets all her recipes from Bon Apetit, and they are too frou-frou...I need something basic, and ass-kicking good.

I need to get out of my funk, Jim. I'm being pathetic. So, I wasn't going to post this, but I just have to. I was supposed to ride with someone yesterday, but due to heavy fog, ended up riding solo. I was so not motivated. I had brought my camera, but I didn't even feel like taking pics. I had stopped to check my tire and took a few shots with my timer. I hated all of them except this shot as it reflected truthfully my mood:

I hear ya, dollface. I'm right there. I think I've isolated my funk to, "Damn, I put in so much work, got in such good shape, then I let it fall off a little bit and now I have to start all over."

I rode 26 yesterday, and I'm in pain. 26 freakin' miles. Would have been a mild warmup only a few months ago...now I'm dying through the whole thing.

Well, I have a slight excuse...I'm still sick with this crazy voodoo preschool viral infection my son gave me...and I'm having saddle woes again. But, I can say in all honesty that in those 26 miles yesterday, 13 of it were at 6% or more. It was a hill workout (and hacking cough fiesta).

Also, I've always been a wuss. I didn't just suddenly turn into one.

Take a week or two completely off the bike. The "problem" with SoCal is that you can ride outside as much as you want year round, and if you take advantage of that it's easy to burn out. Most people I know who ride a lot have some time of year when they reduce their mileage by a lot, and put other things ahead of riding.

Saturday was my first hard ride since Oct 6, and probably about the longest, too-- went to the track for some hard practice races. Other than that I've been commuting to work on the bike (and not even every day) and maybe doing one 40 mileish ride on the weekend. Sunday I helped a friend move a new piece of furniture, got late brunch at the Griddle Cafe, and went shopping for thanksgiving.

No, I just left my house, then went up that stupid hill on the 78 towards Esco a few times, then up Mary Lane and Summit two times each, then saw the wreckage off of Beethoven as I climbed that killer twice, then did it all again. I did about 16 hill repeats, but only did the same hills twice. Each is about a mile or so.
