I think lettuce and cabbage are comparable in nutrition and suprisingly, both have their benefits (contrary to popular belief). Iceberg has tons of folate in it, so it is not void of nutrition as everyone assumes. Yes, dark greens are better, but don't just throw away the iceberg thinking it has nothing in it. Cabbage is nutrient dense, actually, especially the purple cabbage which has tons of antioxidants in it.

Well, any cruciferous vegetable has gas-promoting qualities to it. Here, Happy, this might help you:

Don't be too sure...your bed is probably an EZ Bake Oven at night.
Gas builds, pressure builds, and it all has to escape somewhere at sometime. Nobody is gas-free.

In the SD La Jolla area, the fog this morning was better than yesterday's. Did 25 miles today with my bro-in-law following the SDBC C- route.
Going to take tomorrow off and do a longer ride. Thinking of going down south this time along Mission Beach, and back up to LJ via Mt Soledad... something like that.

No, I haven't been drinking. Last alcoholic drink was on Sunday with cuda2k and happyfeet.

It's a little known fact that the face of boxing nun puppets is actually that of Margaret Thatcher. I know this because one of my sons disasssembled his puppet and there she was, creepy hair and all. It was terrible. We are still paying for therapy.

I stopped at the Stone Brewery after the Palomar ride and they said that they have been messing around with the recipe for the last few years, but that this year's is the one they will stick with for a while...
I also got a 3 liter bottle filled up with Arrogant *******... that way I have something to be thankful for during Thanksgiving dinner...

I should fill up my 2 liter with something special for the occasion. I'm a sucka for Smoked Porter, but I reckon I'll be the only one drinking it. And I'm pretty sure 2L of that grog will strike me stupid.

Try La Jolla Mesa up Soledad.Hmm, not sure how to add it as an uphill climb.
How about something like this (counter-clockwise)?
http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/Test187445
Starts near UC Cyclery
- thru UCSD to La Jolla Shore Dr
- descend into Torrey Pines Rd
- thru LJ downtown
- up Nautilus to Mt Soledad
- down LJ Mesa into Mission Blvd
- thru Seaworld, then eastbound into Fiesta Island
- a loop or two on Fiesta Island
- up Mission Bay Dr, Santa Fe St
- bike path up into Gilman Dr and back to start
BTW, the above route selection is baseless. I just want to do "a loop near the ocean".
Thanks! :)

If you went clockwise you could go up La Jolla Mesa. You need to turn right on La Jolla Scenic to get all the way up to the cross. Then you could descend on Nautilus. Just a thought. You could also go up via Cardeno. I haven't done that so you can give your report. ;)

Cool! Is northbound/reverse LJ Shore Dr doable? Other than that, my only concern is the Seaworld area if the route is reversed. Can we ride in those circular, freeway ramp looking roads on Seaworld Dr/Ingraham/Mission Bay Dr?

It's navigable in either direction. Kind of hard to explain, but it will be evident when you're there.

Total of 31 miles or so; which is shorter than what my bro-in-law wants. But it does satisfy his "ocean side cycling" requirement + 2 rear loaded climbs (Soledad and LJ Shore). :D
