So, Herb and I had lunch at Min's Kitchen in La Canada. Very good food and service. Oh, and the decor was great - colorful and smelled good. :D

We had our quarterly luncheon at work. Tri tips, baked potatoes, potato salad, salad, rolls, pies and cookies. Now I'm sleepy.

Wow! That does sound yummy. I just had veggies with chicken made extra spicy (with a tiny bit of Jasmine rice). Get this, they spiced the hell out it and brought me peppers on the side, which I dumped all over the dish, and it still wasn't spicy enough for me.

I just came back from the beach. On the ride back I picked up a smoothie at Juice Stop. The cup fits nicely into my rear pocket and kept my back nice and cool (not that I needed it with the nice tailwind).

Mary, my outbound trip was into full-on South Bay headwinds. I was paying close attention to my pedal strokes, and I could totally tell that my knees were feeling a strain, more so than if I were climbing or sprinting. You did much more than your share of pulling in those headwinds at Lighthouse (and I'm guilty of wussing out on my end) and I really think that is the culprit of your knee pain!

You know what? You are so right! I'm going to sue the rest of you for my medical bills.:p:D

I suspect the same. I'm resting them this weekend, so hopefully that will solve it. But I was trying to make up for being pulled so much at the Grand Tour - I felt it was my turn! ;)

Oh, and Happyi'dliketoloveulongtime, you should NEVER pull in my opinion unless matched with a more petite rider. You would have blown it out and yet you wouldn't have blocked much wind for the rest of us. I mean that with all due respect, but you shouldn't feel guilty at all.

Different kind of wind. :o The wind was whipping in different directions, from the front, sides, etc, and getting sand in my face. Hard to keep up any kind of consistent pace in that stuff.

Yea, hate that. It's worse than climbing. I get the same thing when crossing the Dumbarton bridge ... the wind follows you everywhere.

Had another sucky ride this morning. Two in a row!

Went into PV and my legs just didn't have it today. Passed by some cute Cynergy boys waiting in Malaga Cove but rode by without stopping (what was I thinking?!) and went straight up Via del Monte. Had a light malfunction in total darkness, fell over onto someone's lawn trying to remove my knee warmers, and got a giant wet spot on my shorts.

On my way back, a big rig got wedged into the three-pt intersection near Malaga Cove. The backed-up traffic was making drivers do crazy things, like making u-turns, running stop signs, driving the wrong way, etc. Not fun to see that at 25mph! :(

The "bug" is going around my office and since I'm susceptible to intestinal crap, I'm washing my hands every two minutes. Feel better, Mark - and, as you know, try to drink lots of liquid.

Yeah, M had it last week as it was going around the school she teaches at. I thought it was some ocean water I ingested on my Tuesday evening swim, but I now think it's the bug going around.

Fortunately I've been craving liquids and am not having problems holding anything down. And the achiness seems to have subsided some today.
