Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

You know, this reminds me a bit of Who's on Third. Only it's, "Who's on Mo?"

Just came back from dinner with my parents at Pacifica Del Mar. Their fish (specialty) is ok; but their dessert is great. Bon Bon, I think since I didn't look at their dessert menu. Heavily (Belgium?) chocolate coated hard shell with ice cream (gelato?) filling plus some small almond liquor bread core. Yummy. :D

I was thinking amongst those lines initially when I searched for a SS/FG. At the end, I don't really ride enough to work that justifies getting a beater bike. Wouldn't a craigslist/used bike build-up from scratch be more fun and cheaper?

Disc brakes aren't allowed on cross bikes in competition.

Anyway, I'm currently in the process of converting a spare mtb frame into a single speed using an ENO hub. :D

pending the cost of the frame you get from craigs. My beater bike started at 30 bucks, threw another 230 bucks at it with new brakes, wheelset, tires cranks, ect ect. But stuck with 27" rims. If I were to do it all over, I'd get that tommiso SS/FG for 300 and add brakes for another 30 bucks and call it a day. I've debated on selling my nishiki just so I can get the tommiso cuz 27" tire selection SUCKS!!!

Exactly. It strikes me as a bike that isn't particularly well suited for any purpose.

Hey, Big Ring Cyclery is a sponsor? I've met Joe before. Nice guy. Worked on my bike for free fixing a shifting issue, and the only thing I bought was chain lube. It was the first time I had heard of chain lube.

Shprung, I don't think I've ever heard you use the F bomb before. You need to wash your car more often so as not to piss of the car wash gods.

Last week, I dropped the F-bomb in front of Dan for the first time in the 10+ years I've known him. You should've seen his jaw drop.
I had a good reason to use it, though: He was urging me to get into cyclocross
(Of course, I yell it to thomson all the time, go figure. Prob. cuz of all the ridiculous grades he leads us to. i.e. Pepperdine Hill without a warm-up!)

Well, I've never heard that. Bad juju. I've heard "bad jojo" but not "juju." Juju sounds erotic.

I think the record is 3 on one ride. (for the record, Pepperdine IS the warm-up)
