LACFD Fined For Not Paying Toll During Fires

SANTA ANA (AP) ―
Last month's California wildfires took a toll on firefighters: a $100 toll to be exact.

The Transportation Corridor Agencies, which operates a network of toll roads in Orange County, sent Los Angeles County Engine Company No. 116 the $100 ticket for not paying a toll on Route 133 during the October firestorms.

The engine company, based in Carson, fought the Palomar Mountain Fire in San Diego County for nearly a week and likely blew past the toll booth on its way there.

Los Angeles County fire Capt. Bob Viers says he assumed the fine was a mistake and called a toll road representative -- but the agency insisted the engine company pay up.

Ultimately, Viers had the fine knocked down to $5 and charged it to his credit card.

BTW, SD Trek Chula Vista store opening up and have sales of Vredestein Fortezza for $14 until Sunday. Too far of a drive for me though (SD-CV store only).

those for the black Fortezza? I have a set blue ones off my felt, only 200 miles on them or so. I don't think I'll use them on the bianchi, you can have them if you want. They would match your new bike well.

It's just cold up here ... 42 F this morning. And I'm climbing Mt. Hamilton tomorrow, which may be analogous to Mt. Palomar. Gonna be cold up there.

HOPE pro 2 disc hubs, Mavic X819 rims, double butted spokes w/alloy nipples.
All in black...
They had to wait for the hubs and shifters to finish the build.
