Ha ha ha ha ha..cats ...I'm about to head out to our local Farmer's Market.

Hey adding heart rate and cadence to the ride level's sounds like a great idea!!

Argh... my brain hurt enough without thinking about heart rate and cadence.

"This ride is a high cadence relaxed ride. We will ride at whatever pace and in whatever gear results in 120 RPM and 120 bpm."

I'm not sure I've ever experienced a "ride" type of ride. Stupid sandalwood-scented skin...

That was MY "ride" type of ride - yours may be differnet. And I have to admit, you don't ever stink.

Once I get used to riding my bent, that will be my errand bike.

Dangit ... won't be able to make it to the train. I'll have to wait another hour. Probably won't be able to see anything anyways with the air show ... consider this my lazy weekend.

Now this is the kind of trip report I like to read! :D

Where did you park your bike (ummm...Sacha, right?) at the Farmer's Market...or did you wheel her around with you??

Um... Sacha won't "park." No lock or chain gets near her silky carbon fiber skin. Where she doesn't go, I don't go. :p;)

So, I've gotten zero cleaning done. But I have ran errands, including picking up a new IPOD shuffle. It is so cute and tiny. I got it in blue. My last IPOD fizzed out after I sweated all over it. I will remember with the new one to dry it off.

I talked to my Dad and he got new shoes (specialized) and pedals. I want my shoes, NOW! Anyone know where I can go in the Valley for specialized shoes? Or do I have to call every bike shop there is? :(

My shuffle - like my cell phone - is ancient. But both have been indestructible so I'm afraid to replace it with a more sophisticated product.

I've dropped my shuffle in a cup of coffee, stepped on it numerous times, had it nearly swallowed by a golden retriever, left it in 140° car in summer, even ran a vacuum cleaner over it.

No, the SIDIs were so uncomfortable when I tried them on. I have duck feet with a very small arch. I loved the way the $250 all carbon Shimanoes felt, but they do not offer heel replacements and I know my luck. I'll buy the Shimanoes and the heel will go bad within a year!

So, I'm hoping that the specialized (which do offer heel replacements) will feel as good as the Shimanoes did. :)

Hmmmm.....maybe I'll head up to Montrose before picking up my bike.

Thanks, Herb. I did call and I may drive up there as they have all styles and women's sizes. I'm also calling Bicycle John's. Thanks for the suggestions! :D

And now, shameless plug for Budget Pro Bicycles in Eagle Rock (my favorite LBS) - I just called David and asked him if he thought I should upgrade my pedals and if that would make a difference. He outright said, "no, your pedals are just fine, M.E. Save your money." He most certainly and easily could have talked me into higher priced pedals! :o

Of course. Mine's a fixed gear that I leave at work. I've done lunchtime errands in from Mission Valley to downtown SD (10+ miles) on it.

I crashed again on my MTB. Rode off the downhill side of a single, hit a dirt clod and over the bars. WWWEEEEE!!!! Crashing is fun if you don't get hurt.

Yes...they do that all the time with me...I say I think I want to do this...and they say why...save the $$...
I do really like them for that..Dave has definitely talked me out some truely unnecessary purchases...pretty unusual for an LBS I think.

Sorry the Sidi's dont work..they are truely awesome...have you looked at Diadora? or any other brands beside shimano?

Came back from my Saturday ride. I was late to the start and accidentally hoped onto the B group instead of my usual C+. There's a large speed gap and it was quite painful. Was able to keep up for the first 35 miles or so at the tail of the pack, then got dropped on PCH. Fell back after a few stop signs and couldn't catch up.

Going out for lunch and to pick up some drugs for tomorrow's ride along the way.

What kind of wheels did you get?

Bontrager Race Lites. Lee sold them to me at a steal and then delivered them to me to boot (I sure like them Texans...and that one in particular :D). Thing is, I'm so damn dumb sometimes, I actually have had them a few months. Why I didn't put them on before now, I just don't know. My lbs laughed at me and shook their heads. They told me that this wheelset is at least two upgrades from the stock set I had.
