Southern California - So Cal needs a long thread "What's Up?" type thread!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

You could go with a black saddle and black tape and not worry about it.
I have a black saddle...in fact, I have three black saddles, two honey leather saddles, and a white saddle. I'm testing out the white saddle right now, but can't be too fredalicious and ride with black tape, even if I'm testing it out.

I bought a new computer today, a VDO wireless with cadence. Got it home, looked at the directions and took it back. Too many features, too complicated. It reminded me of my watch. Got a Cateye Strada instead. The last 2 Cateye wirelesses would die out in cold weather so I bought another one.
I have the Mavic computer, works well is cold, I've done a few am ride in mid 30's + windchill and it's been strong. We'll see if it can pass the summers here in Esco

Still...should have had Lauren on the calendar. That one with the epic strawberry on her leg would have been perfect.
That, or the 'Can you see my huge...megaphone' shot of Brandy...that would have sold millions.

Tickets were already bought. My dad was a company officer at the Academy in '77, and all of his midshipmen are still pretty tight. One of the mids bought a gang of seats in a crap section. Club, Section 28...pretty much right above the tunnel the Chargers come out of. I hate that angle.
Still...should be fun.

I watched a match on teevee recently with a guy who had the craziest bowling stroke I've ever seen. Two-handed...rolled like a billion miles per hour with his right, and put a wicked spin on it with his left. I don't think his ball had any holes in it.
Rolled a perfect game in front of an audience. Ended up winning the match easily, and bowled his final ball with a traditional stroke...striked it, too.

yah its a new technique. Craps loads of revs on the ball too. I read about the youngest kid ever to bowl a 300 was 8 and used that double-handed stroke.

It's way too early to be talking about lotion. You people are so odd.
Good morning. :) I'm off to the gym and then an all day offsite. Sigh. With dinner tonight, it's going to be a long day.

I got back from a 40-miler. There was cloud cover so it was not as cold as it had been. Tights, LS base layer and SS jersey was all today. Hooked up with some guys heading towards the Pier Ride. I just noticed some snot shrapnel on my tights. At best, I hope it's mine. :(

I hate being congested...snot flies everywhere, no matter how talented I may be a snot rocketing.
At least with solid crusties, you generally know where they're headed...but when it shoots out in a spray at 25 mph...it can get all over your shoulder, arm, cheek, ear, helmet, glasses, legs, bike...Then, of course, you use your gloves to wipe it off, then hit a pothole and grab your bars...so now you've got snotbars to deal with.

I found it a tad cooler this morning than yesterday out here. Yesterday I was out in short sleeves before the sun rose.

I did a quick 15 this morning, not as cold for sure. Some puddles on the back roads but mostly dry for the most part. I haven't washed my bike in almost 2 weeks due to the weather we've been getting. Another storm coming in, so MORE rain..ehhh means I have to go to the gym. Just hope it doesn't rain this weekend.

Weird seeing photos of the new Discovery/Astana Team (http://www.velonews.com/race/int/articles/13820.0.html)
"Despite being full members of Astana, contractual agreements keep the Disco riders in their 2007 kits until the end of the calendar year."
Reminds me of what my buddy went through a few weeks ago. While at a computer convention back east, he saw a CSC booth and sitting inside was David Zabriskie. The computer nerds completely ignored him, having no idea who the skinny guy was, much less that he was no longer riding with CSC. (I guess since he's still obligated to wear the colors til the end of the year.)
So my friend sat down next to DZ and had a long, friendly chat about cycling. ;)
