I rode 25 miles this afternoon. I rode up to the observatory to have my bike blessed by the winter solstice god. That straight line in the concrete marks the location of the setting sun. My bike has been blessed for the winter.

Never got on the bike today, although it was nice out. So ended up doing a Spinervals session. This is one of our newer ones; it has three different 30 Time Saver workouts. Did session B, which is time trial and intervals. It killed! I was dripping wet when I finished. My legs are toast tonight....

Subway - good choice. They wear plastic gloves while touching your food. You can pound down a 12" sub? Half now, half later?

Yeah, I think that's the one. I haven't done A yet. Go for that B workout....be sure to keep a towel under the bike to catch the sweat!

Packed a bottle filled with Hammergel in my bag ... found out the bottle was not closed completely .. can you say "ugly gooey mess"?

Leaving for Istanbul at 5:30AM tomorrow. Yes I did check, and predictably enough the city is an extremely bad place for cycling. It will be interesting to celebrate Xmas in a place where they don't celebrate Xmas.

Internet works from our hotel. Lots of very old buildings and very very friendly guides,rug merchants and restaurant shills.. I can see why the guides said that Istanbul is not cycle friendly - narrow cobblestone streets, shoulderless high speed highways, and not a single bike to be seen anywhere. I doubt you would last 5 minutes. Charmng place though, and I am glad we're not here during peak tourist season.

I had that happen with a bottle once...I think ME had in happen in her car...I stopped using the bottles after that...

Try using ice or a can of compressed air to freeze it...then it comes off pretty easy!!

Been really slacking this month. Longest ride this month was 38 miles. Gotta kick it into high gear when January comes around.

Same for me...I have a massive 95 miles for the entire month...this could be the lowest of the year!

If I average 40 miles a day until the end of the year I'll reach my mileage goal. It'll be very close!

todays ride,
Jesmond Dean, north on 395, UP gopher Canyon from 395, around to W. Lilac, UP Circle R, bomb back down to 395 and then top it off with the LW hill back to Jesmond. Was better route then yesturday, my buddy kicked my ass though, 44 miles of pain. We made good time on all the flattteerrr sections. I rode at 90-95% most of the dammmnn ride..I hate hills...

tomorrow is back/bi's and 1000m swim. I'll kick it up to 1500m if I dont end up being a terribad

Funny, but I had to have the same average starting on Thursday. Unfortunately, I didn't get very far on Thursday (see http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=373099) and I didn't ride on Friday. I rode 28 yesterday and 54 today. Basically, I going to end up being this close > < . The story of my life. :o

patron is the best way to end the night:D

I think I might dust off the road bike tomorrow.

I'm home now and I'm catching up!! My holiday drinking has officially begun, but I do have to work tomorrow...

great pics Tracy!!!!!!n It's been a WHILE since I last snowboarded, come to think about it, i'mve only done it for one day....I was scared $hitless when I took the lifts to the top (I taught myself how to ride)
and I'm alot better on two wheels LOL.
