Alrighty, here are a few or if I'm feeling a bit energetic this evening, I'll post more than a few ....ride report will be later cause it's now almost 9:30pm and I wanna go to bed shortly...

WP, it is multi-step. First I use my Garmin to record the ride. When I get to my computer I use SportsTracks to download the data. Once in ST I can export as a GPX. As long as my camera and GPS are in sync (time wise) I use RoboGeo to embed the GPS data into the EXIF information of each matching photo. I then upload to Flickr. RoboGeo will also add an HTML comment to your Flickr page that will add links to map the picture or to download a Google Earth KML file. Also if you look at each image Flickr knows the geotag is in the EXIF information and adds a link to a small pop-up map under the Additional Information section.

Can anyone translate this newfangled and (for me) apparently youth-oriented lingo? <depressed, ancient Vega look>

VV, I am old enough to be your ... brother.
Just look at the pics on Flickr and press the map link of any one that you want to know about it will take you to a map and show you precisely where the picture was taken.
This ones for VV, it shows you how much distance we traveled at grades zones. Because I use "smart recording" on my Edge there will always be a discrepancy between uphill and downhill as the downhill happens much faster and the gps track is smoothed out more. There was just short of 15 miles of climbing in the total ride.
Awesome pictures. Looks like it was a great ride. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, WW for the detailed info from our Sat. ride on the BRP. We couldn't have asked for better weather this weekend. I think everyone had a great time on all the rides, Friday through Sunday. One member said Sat. was the the most fun day ever on a bike. I really enjoyed sharing some of my local riding with the awesome BF community.
I have some photos I hope to add later today.

Those are great pictures and, many thanks to Wolfpack and BikeWNC for putting this weekend together. Sadly I missed the Friday and Sunday ride but, the Saturday ride was fantastic. It was a pleasure meeting and riding with with all of you on this day.
We couldn't have asked for better weather (the pictures speak to that effect) and, every time I go to the mountains here I am reminded of why I like this state so much. The mountains of both NC and VA just reek with beauty. I am already looking forward to the Spring when hopefully we can repeat this engagement. Just a great time for everyone. The Parkway riding is rewarding with the near perfect road conditions, the climbs and descents which never leave a dull moment in the saddle.
Really good pictures!

I have truly enjoyed the pictures of the Mountain meet and ride by the BF members. It was great to see all the pics of the ride. Wish I was there!
I will say that I was mildly disturbed by the pic above. Does anyone know why?

Perhaps because nobody in the photo has a beer despite eating at a brewery?
I, too, enjoyed the photos. I knew I wouldn't be able to attend this gathering because my racing team had its fall training camp that same weekend (Thurs-Sun). As it turned out, we ended up doing a ride on Friday that included the Blue Ridge Parkway summit; Saturday we did Mt Mitchell. So we covered some of the same general area, if not on the same days.
Looks like everyone had a good time. Maybe I'll join all y'all next time.

Wow!
Great pictures guys and gals.
It is now my goal to be in enough "bike shape" to tag along next year. May even drag my pops along.
Step 1. Get a Roady
Step 2. Ride my ass off

I'm back home in Kentucky now, with some pictures from the rides. I liked all the other pictures in this thread, too.
I really liked the route. The climbing had downhill sections mixed in, so it wasn't one huge climb. We had a varied group, and all had a good time.
There's 30 pictures in this Picasa web album (http://picasaweb.google.com/jim859n/BFRideFall2007?authkey=0hugRvLLKio). Click the slideshow mode. A few of them:
