Well, it's official... Salsa's getting a 2008 C'Dale Taurine team replica frame (in a few weeks), and the Moto Rapido is up for bid on e-bay:

Might this be why the lad is out aggressively building fence?:p

ps - we have a slightly used Project 321 carbon adaptor available, if anyone needs one.
Good on him.
What kind of fence? lol
Oh yeah, looking at the ebay ad.
Get a lizard for the chainstay on the new bike.......
:P
I have a bunch of firewood needing splitting. Wish I could still enslave my son ;)
BTW, well-crafted SPAM there, Mom . . . little bit o' news; lot o' promotion - -just like a good press release.

mx - the frame is on order, hopefully will be in Mid-Oct... had to pull some strings to get the team replica paint job, and, hopefully, a huge discount.... (still have no idea of the actual price - just a ballpark of "under $1000)

I think the starting price for that frame on ebay is waaaay too much money. I would have started it at $199 to get some attention.
Sweet new and old bikes nonetheless

I never do ebay ads that way. I always post them at the minimum I am willing to sell them for. I hate to waste my time or someone else's. I've had pretty good luck with it, sold over 50 bikes and/or frames that way. :D
Tell Salsa congrats on the new frame and I have some rooms that need painting in the house I'm remodeling tp get ready to sell. ;)

Lowcel - hey, he can carpenter it up, too. I'll advise him of your offer - you may have to take him for a weekend, tho!
Curt - the starting price is the absolute minimum I will take for that frame... $799 new, only used for a handful of races... why bother with folks willing to spend $200 when it's less than I want? I've got a few "watchers" who know a bargain when they see one!
thanks
cannondale? i thought he used salsa?

Out of curiosity, I remember in the past you talking about having to face off some of the the headtube... Did you end up having to do that?
(I think that was you at least) :)

Fron the ebay ad: "The bike was outfitted with a lefty shock, so the bottom of the head tube was professionally milled down a little more than 1 mm"

That sounds like a pretty good deal, I'm just not sure that I could afford to feed a growing boy like him. :o

He had a C'dale (scalpel) which - duh - he outgrew. Moved to a used Salsa Moto Rapido that we got from a friend for a great price - it was a Medium, and he (let's hear it, folks...) outgrew it. He liked the frame, so we ordered a Large last fall... it was a close fit by the time it arrived in March. Well, he spent the summer growing. He's at about 6'3", and 15.
He really likes the Taurine, so, because we can get a pretty good discount from the LBS, and a factory discount from the Regional C'Dale rep (who dissed the kid when he was 7, but has finally been forgiven!), I can get him the Taurine for about the same price as an XL Moto Rapido - which seemingly no longer comes in black, just gold? Kid says NO WAY!!
If (or when) he outgrows the XL, he's on his own. I give up.:D

Oooo look! It's the scary man that had good potential that liquidated all his goods because of redneck okies & their pick 'em ups.. LowCel to nocel.

He's transferring all the stuff from the Salsa - Marta SL's, carbon Lefty, scandium KCNC seatpost, ControlTech bars, RaceFace cranks... etc....
