New to cross so forgive me for some of the more simplistic questions.
I have the stock Tektro Oryx with stock pads on my bike right now. They squeal and will periodically shudder. I am looking to change them(not sure if upgrade is the correct term here). I am looking basically just to change something on the bike and with some of the little problems I'm having, brakes look to be it. So, everybody recommends Pauls, Spooky's, etc. My concern is with the inability to toe in the brakes without actually deforming the holder.
I've had my eye on the new Tektro 720's as I like the "look" of that style. So, along those lines, what is the choice for brakes, looking to spend $100 or less. I'm looking for something like the:
TRP Euro X, which I really like, but is the inability to toe the pads a big issue?
Tektro 720, which appear to have the adjustable toe in.
Or, the other option is that the Oryx are actually fine brakes and I just get the Kool Stop Tectonic or Vbrake insert pads, which should improve braking and decrease squeal?
