Has anyone ridden over the 291 Bridge over MO river? (Kansas City)

Coming from the northwest my destination would be La Benitte Park. The south bound lanes offers a shoulder but the north bound lanes don't. Do people ride the wrong way north bound on the west shoulder? That is what I plan on doing.

I no longer live in Liberty but my parents still do. I ride out on 291 all the time when I am home. It is pretty much the only road to take to get to better roads in Liberty IMO. I have never crossed that bridge but I don't see why it would be a problem. I would just head in the opposite direction as traffic on the shoulder as it is pretty wide. Then you can just cross over once you have passed the bridge. I don't know where you are intending to ride but if you take 291N towards Liberty and go east on 210 you can find some pretty good roads. There is one country hwy (I think it is J) that goes north off of 210 that has a pretty good 6-7% grade hill for about 3/4 a mile. Then you can ride that for awhile and if you head out east again and head towards Excelsior Springs. There is a pretty neat decent that goes down into the "valley" of ES. Let me know if you need route ideas. I know plenty and know a couple guys who are cool and fun to ride with.
