Hi,

What is your recommendation for a sprinter wheels? i am looking for a mid. range price that will be good for training (hold long time) and good enough for race.

maybe i should have 2 types - one for training and one for racing?

please provide price estimations or links if you can.

Either set would work nice.

avoid the topolinos. They look cool, but the resin hubs have a history of cracking, they are unserviceable [you'd have to send them back to the factory], and i don't think they're race legal under article article 1.3.018 of the uci rules. not worth it.

2 wheelsets are a great idea. Most of the wear and damage happens during training, so you need strong, durable wheels. For race-day only you can use a lot lighter set of wheels. You can also tune the cogset for race-use, and even, if this takes your fancy, use tubulars.

I think it's a matter of preference. Everyone will tell you a different tire here. If you're going to go for 2 sets of wheels, like you mentioned, put a heavier more durable (& cheaper) tire on the training wheels, and a lighter, faster tire on the racing wheels. For sprinting, you'll probably want to go with a 23 width.
