Great Lakes - Great Lakes Jersey - Finally!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Got my jersey in the mail on Sat. Fit and feel is just like my favorite Descente jerseys. It's much better looking in person, and I like the chain link accents. I can already tell I'll be reaching for this jersey a lot. Big thanks to Rob and iab for designing this jersey and putting the deal together, and sending them out so fast.

Someone else snag some pics when you get yours. My computer life has been a fiasco. I basically have no way of posting pictures.

I'd love to take a picture of one.... if I had one.
:(
I'll take a pic when I get home if no one's posted yet

Just received mine. Looks great. It is a tad small though. I purchased a race cut size large bit is a little snugger than my other race cut jersey's. If anyone has one that is a little large that they may want to trade just let me know. I guess I need either Large club cut or a XL race cut.

I'm to the point where I think it would be cool if nobody posted a picture of the jersey.
If you want to see one, get your lazy bones on the bike and see one out on the road!
That would be fun.
Who's with me on this??!????
I'm game. I'll be riding on Green Bay Rd starting in Northbrook at 5:30am on Thursday commuting into Chicago if someone wants to wait on the side of the road and snap a pic. You'll need an x-ray lens because it will be under 3 other layers.
How about we make everybody wait and take the first pics of the jersey Spring Classic?

Uhh so obviously I'm a little late to snag one of the GL jerseys... but any chance someone would consider doing one again? I'd really like one... :)

Somehow I never purchased the first go around. So if there is any consideration, I promise I would be in on it now. Maybe the old batch are getting worn out, hey?

Minimums are 10. I wouldn't even consider doing it unless 10 people chimed in here that they were in. Also...no design changes. Those threads break down into disarray.
i could use a replacement. i has worn mines out!!! later.

Yes. I will start a new thread either tonight or Tuesday.

i know you said no design changes. but if there was a redesign (not thread based) there would probably be alot more interest in the "new" style.

I won't be doing a redesign. If there is a redesign I will not be organizing the order. This will be a reorder for the existing design. I don't have nearly enough time to do anything but a simple reorder. What seems simple initially turns into a huge ordeal that takes probably 100-200 man hours to coomplete.....seriously.

A redesign or even small modifications would take a much larger effort than Psimet's looking to take on. Using the existing design without any changes, an order can be placed using finished templates/proofs that ChampSys already has in hand and will speed up things with minimal headaches.
That said.....
I would venture to guess that there would be a lot of interest in a new design. Anyone can do it, but it's a long(ish) process. I've seen it done by committee on this board (ugh... nightmare) as well as by fiat (here's the design, you want it you order it as is). Psimet's original design was done in the behind-the-scenes manner with only a few editorial fixes and touches added from outside voices.
So.... you got an idea for a new Great Lakes jersey? Get it organized and I guarantee you people will hop on the ordering bandwagon. :)
edit.... Psimet beat me to the explanation...

I propose just a couple easy changes.
Work some celeste in there. A lot of it. And then try to make use of the following logo. Maybe on the chest as well as the shoulders:

He's just implying that he'd like to see me complete the BH kit buy first. I agree but unfortunately that one is n Ara's hands now. He wants to maintain control on it so it is what it is. I finished the artwork and got what I could of the preliminary counts for him.
*sigh* orders can be fun sometimes. I swear I have been a purchasing agent before and I do actually like it. Seriously. I do.

Wasn't implying that at all! I talked to Ara last week. I know exactly what's going on there.
What I WAS implying is that if the BFNIC kit looked like the BH kit I'd consider buying it because I could use it for dual duty. As it is now, I can't see myself buying any more jerseys/bibs as I've already got too much stuff I don't wear.
Although, is the BFNIC stuff going to be club cut? I did just have Culvers.

It's for the benefit of all mankind.
How would more celeste cycling jerseys ever be a bad thing?

BH doesn't even sell Bianchis. What's with all the celeste this and celeste that talk?
The world needs more Isaac.... um.... Isaac..... what color is associated with Isaac?

Red...in honor of their bankruptcy.
Red...in honor of their bankruptcy.
Which is too bad, because they make pretty rocking frames. I was in the shop last week when they sold another.
mhamm- what did you get? I had an oreo shake. It was my first trip to Culver's since Monday. This weightloss plan is coming along great!

I was a fatty fat fat. Double butter burger, fries, rootbeer, and then a turtle sunday. A full meal type thing.
Good for my ride this afternoon, if the rain can stop.

Nice!
Although, I prefer the curds over the fries. I mean, it is Culver's and not McDonalds.
Back on track, and completely related:
Hey PSImet- Do those jersey's come in a club cut XXL?

I got mine two days ago. Held the thing up and said "there's no way... NO WAY... this is going to fit". Just tried it on, and it fits like a freaking glove. Sure, I look a bit like a prostitute on a bike, but you know what? I don't care. I'm rocking it... and proud.
Thanks Rob, for making my Bikeforums.net clothing dreams come true :)
