I was going through San Clemente this past sunday and stopped at a 7-11. There were a couple other Cyclist there. I didn't start talking to them because I was in a hurry to get home. This had to be around 1:00 PM. But the further I rode the more the faces seemed familar, like I had seen them in a picture from this forum. I should have asked if they were BFers.... That may have gotten me into a fight. Either because they don't know what I am talking about or because they do.
So was anyone going through San Clemente on Sunday around 1:00?

It could have been me, Mel44 and Voltman.

It would be really cool if we could put a red star somewhere so we could identify each other, because I really want to start meeting up with some of you. I might have to organize a ride, but I really want to go out on a few before I do so.
Lets see we could get a little fabric star to sew onto the non-SoCal BFer jerseys. Maybe a little red sticker for the back of the seat post.
Mateo, were rideing with a girl, I recall there being one of those "Hot SoCal cycling woman" with this group.

yea, but I don't think you want to slap one of those on each time you go out for a ride. If you had something sewn into your jersey or a little sticker on your seat post you would always have it. It was just a thought and not a very well thought through one at that.
How about carrying a laptop on every ride? :D

Did you buy one yet, and if so, is that your new poser accessory?:)

We do tend to put them on most every bf ride..pretty simple...
or better yet...get a BF jersey!!

Yes I did, but unfortunately I can't use it as poser accessory because it's not a Mac. :D

Putting a tat on for a BF ride works (one day I will make one of these rides and have one too) But I am really thinking about the everyday ride. I don't have a jersey (I do want one) but if I did I couldn't/wouldn't wear it every ride.
Here is the senario. I am out riding and I come across other riders. It would be nice to know if they were BFers. It would be too geeky to ask everone that passes me  if they are a BFer. If I could see a little red star on their seat post or some other sign, I might be able to muster up enough speed to catch them to say hi.
I am making to much of this huh. If I would just go to some of the rides I would know people by their faces.
Actually, that's how I met merider1 last year during the Grand Tour Lite. At the lunch stop I asked out loud to a group of cyclists if anyone belonged to Bikeforums. She happened to be among that crowd. :D

And then I proceeded to hug him, and squeeze him, and pet him and hug him and call him George....:D
(for those of you who think I molested a married man, I didn't. I'm referencing the Abominable Snowman from the Bugs Bunny cartoons. :p)

That's already being used by my Trekie friends. I would get confused. And before anyone thinks about a bird sign that is how my family greets each other.....

Yes, the "girl," who you correctly identified as hot, is my wife.
Assuming we all possess the requisite verbal skills, how about just asking, "Hey, are you from bikeforums? I think I might recognize you." Or some version of that. Problem solved. No fuss, no muss.
Just introduce yourself next time!

It always takes me a few minutes of processing to recognize people. It wasn't until later that I thought, hey they were kind of familar lookiing. Acctually I think it was only you that I recognized.
That is great that you ride with your wife. My wife will only beach cruise so I don't get to ride with her. I guess it gives us time alone. I hope you were proud not angry at my description of your wife.
After all that I have read on this tread, I am just going to ask others if they blog on the BF. At the very least I will begin to meet more people.

We just need to make trading cards, like baseball cards for cycling. Just kidding of course.

Naw, not angry at all!
I'm glad my wife lets me ride with her, too!
