Seagull bags and I are putting it on. You can hit me up at info _at_ columbusbumshuffle.com. We're in the early stages, so it'd be great to have you as a sponsor.
You guys really need to come out for this! This will be a great race w/ good prizes, and i totally insane after party. Hit us up if you all need a place to crash.
I just received confirmation from Bens Cycle of Milwaukee that they'll be kicking out some rad prizes, the most notable of which is a fully Gold Velocity Fusion wheelset. If you kick ass in this race, you'll be able to receive the derision of others in the "Jackass" thread with your new digs.
i really wanna do this
if anyone wants to ride this with me for fun at not at a hella insane pace through traffic get at me, i have no delusions of winning, i just want to have fun.
Cincinnati is probably claiming first out of town...just sayin'.
i'll be there hangin out being awkward drinkin beers ridin bikes good times

hey dude -- it should be a fun race for people who are just riding for the hell of it. i'm going to be doing a ton of promotion for the race around town in the next couple of weeks, but if you know anyone, let them know about it.
hey calculus -- if you're down, i may mail grip of fliers to you to throw around cleveland.

word, i talked to a friend of mine and he said he would ride it with me, should be a lot of fun, hopefully it isn't hella cold!
on another note, i think i talked to you on craigslist about a month ago about the sugino bb that wouldnt fit my bike.
Yep, that'd be me. Is your bike working out pretty well?
Yep, that'd be me. Is your bike working out pretty well?
working great, swapped out the saddle and pedals and i took your advice and invested in a new wheelset, i will be able to afford them on payday!
that's awesome -- if you ever need access to tools or any **** like that, let me know. i have a veritable bike shop at the house.
i just updated the flier (see top) with what is likely to be the final sponsors list. check it.
i assumed 'bum shuffle' had something to do with hobos but upon googling it it seems to be when babies crawl around on their butt
Hopefully Louisville and I can make it up for this race, fully planning on it. I know I'll probably end up in dfl, but I'm just coming to ride hard and have fun.
hell yeah -- you guys definitely should. let me know if you just need lodging and i'm sure that we can figure some **** out.
I was thinking about doing this race since Jumpinships was so much fun, but then that car hit me and trashed my bike and my MCL.
holy ****. come out and drink! you don't need decent knees to get ripped.
This will be my first alleycat, besides an awesome time... what should I expect? Should I be bringing a bag and are under 21'ers allowed?
yeah, bring a bag and a lock. the race is open to all ages, absolutely.
Oh man, this is gonna rock.
i just updated the ghetto ass website -- http://www.columbusbumshuffle.com -- with a calendar for friday and saturday's events and the pertinent info. just mouse over the main box for the info popup.
Do I get 1 dollar off for a jamtastic canned good?
so will be worth the 3hr drive down there
So is this an alleycat race then? How far does the race last? Is it open to just ss/fg bicycles?
Parsons...that's right next to where I live.
metricoclock - **** yes it will. definitely let me know if you need any housing or whatever.
mavimao - yep, it is. the race length will vary depending on your routes, but the race runs for 2hr. all types of bikes are welcome.
Oh man, this is gonna rock.
unless its too "navigationally intense"..sorry had too
This will be good. Columbus is a great town to race in for anyone that hasn't been there yet... Assuming the weather is driveable and nothing catastrophic happens between now and then, my Civic and a couple of other fools from Pittsburgh are heading that way.
Shants - Got your flyers today, you should be getting those magazines from me soon if they aren't already there.
radness. we love the out of town crews.
okay, so i have so much booze from colt45 for this party that i will probably die if other people aren't here to help me drink it.
I have 120 40oz bottles of colt45
and 150 22oz bottles. seriously. come.

hahaha that's awesome. we should have a decent crew out for the race. super stoked.
Holy **** dudes, we just built two of the bikes for our after party "cripple crank" race. I won't reveal the particular setups, but they are gnarly city and super fun to ride (especially after a few beers). Half-Impressive and Seagull Dan can vouch. God damn I'm stoked. By the eighth, I'll have just finished everything for my graduate school application, so I'm going to get ****ing crazy.
Just bumping up this thread! We gots plenty of places for people to crash, and tons of booze. I don't care how you get here, but you need to come.
I know it's early, but I just checked the weather and they are calling for rain. Any type of back up plan in case the weather is bad? Truly hoping that it's not going to be bad though. Just curious.
bums cannot skip rain days, so neither can we. rain or shine, my friend.
****ing colt45 koozies came in the mail today. i have 200:

It's gonna be a tough call. Latkes at grandma's house or the Bum Shuffle? Potato pancakes taste so good, but it's been a long time since I've ridden and/or raced through Columbus.
Maybe I can get off my ass, figure out a plan, and do both.
Mountains of free booze, meeting other dumb midwest kids, riding bikes, getting stupid. what's better, really? I'll tell you what -- get your ass out here and I'll make you some ****ing latkes. I'm sure they'll suck, but you'll also be hungover so it won't matter.
The bum shuffle champ bag is the craziest bag anyone has ever seen. It will blow your ****ing mind. COME AND WIN THIS ****!!!!
so stoked on this, ill see you all on saturday, if all goes as plan we will be rolling pretty deep!
Coming here from Pittsburgh...I've never even seen Columbus, let alone raced there. Should be interesting.
**** yeah pitts - it'll be bad ass deluxe. the out of town prizes (going 2 deep) are pretty bad ass.
40 degrees and rainy is the forecast
worst biking weather possible? i guess its only a 30% chance though. snow'll probably be all gone.
usually when weather.com has a 30% chance it doesn't end up raining. the increase in temp in the next few days should clear up the snow, too, which will be jackpot. the roads right now aren't even bad. just a little wet.
