I joined in January of 2005, got 14,999 lifetime miles on Bikejournal. Makes me want to go out and ride one more for an even 15,000!:D
I know most of Socal riders are prolly new to bj, but watcha got anyways?

roughly 5,300 - but not lifetime, just since January of this year.

Wow that's alot for 9 months. Makes me think back to 05 when I did 7300. I did nothing but ride that year. Had to slow down cause I forgot Gina's name!:D
I think back to 95 and 96 when I did 2k each year. Then from then on it was just over 4k a year till 05, 7300 in 05, then back down to 4k a year for 06. Hopefully 5k in 07.
I'm figuring 52,000 since I started tracking miles in 95. Been on the bike for over 12 years now. I thought I'd be done with the bike after a year or two!:D
Only discovered the forms back in 03. I think that maybe if I had known about them in my younger days, I would have had more fun riding. Heck, did they have them back in 95?

To be honest, it's TOO MUCH for 9 months. :o I thought to myself yesterday, "I need a break." I want to put on slinky clothes and high heels and perfume and be a little feminine on the weekends and maybe even stay up late and sleep in the next day! Of course, I say that now and in two days I'll be itching to ride, but I've ridden more weekends out of this year than ever before. I think I've had all of maybe two weekends off, and I believe that was when I was in TN visiting my family! I'm not so sure I'm going to be setting a mileage goal for next year. I don't want to lose my passion for cycling (which I doubt is possible) by pushing myself to win a numbers game. With that said, I still think the BJ So Cal group mileage club is great and I'll continue to contribute. :)

That's true and I understand bigtime Mary. Too much causes burnout. In 05 I did 23 centuries for the CAM challenge. I had fun but since then, I've only done one century (BA). I have several friends ask why I don't do organized rides. Some even think I scared for some reason. Real truth is that doing organized rides since 95 adds up in the money dept along with the time dept. Hotels, equipment, it all adds up. I'm actually surprised and happy to still be riding the way I do. Somehow all the time and money doesn't seem worth the t-shirt anymore!:p
I plan to kick it back up for 08 but sure in 09 I'll be more than happy to drop it back down again!:D

I have no idea what my lifetime milage might be, but it was fun to see my current bike turn 10,000 the other day. It took me about 3 years to get there.

I actually just joined this year. Luckily, I had a running spreadsheet of the miles I accumulated. I probably joined in March, and have accumulated 4,911 miles, so that would be my lifetime numbers.
I'd have to admit, BF has contributed a lot to mileage I have accumulated this year.

Just ticked over 28,000 on bikejournal, but I didn't track my mileage before about 3 years ago.

Everybody's non-cycling friends say that. As do non-running friends when you talk about running a marathon (which, after all, is only 26.2 miles. :p)
3,261, but it's only from this year.

I'm going to go out on a limb and simply say "Not Enough..." :(
I joined the end of June, and have 2,027 miles so far. That's also my lifetime mileage, sort of, since that was the first time I rode a bike in 15 years.

umd, those are some great pictures. Makes me wish I had more from all the bike miles.
Never used BJ, don't even use a bike computer anymore, but I think I've done about 75,000 miles on road bikes. Did about 50 centuries one year, probably more actually, so I understand the need to back off. Spent a few years on the mountain bike instead of the roadie, itching to do some more of that this winter.

I had the itch too and did so. First few mtb rides after 2 or 3 years off was great. Like riding a bike for the first time!:D

4017 miles from October of last year.
I can't really figure this out from their home page so I hope you'll excuse me for asking:
What's the point of BikeJournal?
I tried to look at individual pages but it kept bugging me to sign up.

Couple different points. First is that it ranks you according to 7,000 riders on the site. If you have 400 miles and I have 401, I will be one ahead of you, Maybe you're #2001 on the chart, I'm # 2000. A lil bit of motivation to do a bit more riding to pass me.
Also there is a club within the site. Ours is SoCal forums. Maybe 60 riders in the club. We have our own chart. SO I am compared to the riders in this forum on that page. SOme may be motivated to keep up withthe other locals.
Another point is just logging your miles for your own info. I do the basics. description, average, distance time. The more advanced count calories, heart rate since you get to set up your own journal columns.
It's free but some donate $20 for minor extra privilages. I do so I can view other journals, small stuff like that.:p

Give me a few mintues so I can post a pic of our club page with the riders and maybe rider profile page, which keeps track of miles on each bike.
Oh, I don't know. I didn't keep track of this stuff until I started training for my 1st Century a few years ago. And prior to that I didn't ride that many miles regularly. so I guess I'd show maybe 8K total the last couple of years since I'm averaging about 3000 per.

I started journaling my miles about 3 years ago and have about 21000 lifetime...and 7800 for this year so far. It is a very addicting thing, the competetion to stay ahead of certain people. I don't think I would have ridden nearly as much without the push I feel from behind or the carrot that is dangled ahead of me on those ranking pages!
June of this year?
June 23, 2007, to be exact. :)

No,have no idea what tale a screenshot means. All I know is when I try to show someone a screen it logs out for those that aren't members.

A screenshot (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Screenshot) is an image of exactly what is on your screen. You don't have to use a camera to take a picture of the screen, the computer knows exactly what is there and you can essentially "ask" for a copy of it.

Well.. up until the beginning of 2007 all my riding involved training for 13-25 mile flat rides (i.e. middle leg of a triathlon). Then an injury forced me to go bike-only for awhile. I did my first climbing ride in February or March of this year and since then I've logged about 4000 miles, on pace for about 6000 this year.
Thanks for the explanation. I don't think I'll join because my longest commute is only a little more than 5 miles. I'll probably cause an underflow error in the rankings. :D

 No, no...five miles a day adds up! You're doing 25-35/week. Times that by 52 and you get...well, I can't figure that out, but you get my point. :p:D
