Lots of background as quick as I can. I have had a couple of heart attacks and have a balance problem so I didn't think I could ride a bike. I was determined to try. I bought and old cruiser for the stability. I changed over the drive sprocket and pedals for a set from a child's bike. that lowered the pedals decreasing the size of the arc. I can handle all but the hills if i stay away from those monster cars.

I went electric assist for the hills to tame them a little. I put on a 24 volt scooter motor and a friction drive. I got it working just fine with a three inch 3/4 galvanized pipe as a drive wheel and a radiator hose cover for the grip. I even increaed the voltage to 36volts. No it didnt burn it up. I don't use the motor except to climb hills that stand in my way. I still need to pedal so it doesn't cut back on my exercize all that much.

All that was to ask this question. I have made a little drag trailer for extra battery power and will be running it as 36 volt 12+12+12 configuration. I can buy a charger for a 36 volt scooter reasonably of the auction site. It is however a three wire system. SO does anyone know what the three wires are for. I assume one is ground one is positive and the third is a lower amp positive but I have no way of knowing. I had hoped that some other butcher had already done it. If so I could save experimenting on one.

thanks for your help....

Pictures &/or links to said items would help.

Is your motor directly connected to the battery?

battery is connected to on off switch then to the motor yes. However there is a female connector from batery box to a male connector on the bike. I plan to add my own male connector to the charger. I have found out since posting this that the charger has only two wires, so it wont be a problem.
