Electric Bikes - Using a cyclone through a tandem crank?

Ok I really wish I could get the stokemonkey but it is not available and looks like it wouldn't work with my shifters anyhow so that may be out.
I had looked at the BB motor kit setup but really don't want to just have a single in the front so if I could flip the freewheel so it would run backwards does it sound possible to run it through the timing side of a

Stokemonkey (http://cleverchimp.com/products/stokemonkey/)
This would allow me to remove the motor/controller/batteries and have mostly a normal bike back pretty easily and give me all my gears I'll use on a normal day.

This is for a Fuji Touring (probably with xtracycle) on that 42 round trip mile mostly flat commute of mine. I can do it without any assist. I'm only looking for a little help really on the 21 miles home to make it there faster. I've been looking at historical posts all the vendors and prices and this looked like a good possibility.

My other choice is the bionx but it is pretty steep and I really wish it was front wheel (yeah I know it has the torque sensor for assist) Myself and my bike are pretty heavy so I hate to go with low spoke special EBike wheels. Or are they good for heavy and rough riders?

No, I'm afraid not.

Is it the freewheel on the motor sproket can't be reversed or is that I shouldnt' use it without the freewheeling crank? I have access to an Independent Pedaling crank for a tandem I could use and I guess I could use a jackshaft to keep the motor on the same side and only add a pound or two.

Edit: I just took a look at an installed kit again. I think I could just flip the motor because of how the chain is setup under the chain in it's normal bb position. So the only question now is it the lack of a freewheeling crank that was an issue or is it something else?

There's no easy way to isolate the cranks from the motor if the motor drives the LH side of the bottom bracket.

You could use a LH freewheel in the IPS system to isolate the motor from the cranks but, if you don't mind the motor chain remaining active, it's easier to do it with a freewheel on the motor shaft.
